Samantha Soliz wants to become a high school history teacher based on her positive experience with her favorite teacher, Mrs. Netzley. Mrs. Netzley made history fun and engaging for her class. Samantha also wants to support students in a way her earlier teachers did not, as her school experiences before high school were not good. She feels passionate about history and wants to help students take it more seriously.

2. My Favorite Teacher
 My favorite teacher was my high school
U.S History teacher, Mrs. Netzley.
 She always had a way to keep the entire
class involved with the assignments, and
she made history fun and easy to learn.

3. Why I want to be a teacher…
My decision to be a teacher was based a
lot on my experiences in school. Up until
high school, my experiences were not
great, and school was my least favorite
place to be, so when I decided to become
a teacher, my main goal was to be there
for the students in a way that my teachers
were never there for me.

4. What I want to teach…
I wanted to teach high school history. It was
my favorite subject in school and something
I feel people don’t take seriously enough. I
was hoping to change that.
