 Agriculture shares 7.6% in BFY2014-15
 In Agriculture sector govt will spend 1390.0 core taka
by the year 20114-15.
 Agricultural subsidy remains constant at Tk. 9,000
core.
 Distribution of food is continuing at a minimum price
or free of cost through TR, VGF, VGD, FFW etc. These
programs have saved people of northern region from
recurrent monga

 National Agriculture Policy 2013‘ with the targets
of sustaining the achievements in agriculture,
commercializing this sector and ensuring food and
nutrition security.
 In this Budget Introduction of Authoritative Land
Records would help to reduce land litigation.
 Food adulteration is a huge problem in Bangladesh.
The Pure Food Act,2013 has been enacted in this
Budget.

• Zero duty on poultry & livestock feed item
Sorghum, Millet, Guar meal, & Zeolite will halp to
reduce the price poultry feed.
INDUSTRY
In this Budget there is no big amount of resource is
allocated for industries and budget allocation for the
Industrial sector in FY15 is lower than that of RADP14.
However several measures have been taken by the govt
which is appreciated.
 43 projects related to industry sector are
currently under implementation.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Subsidised credit and
refinancing facilities for the SMEs will continue
 Reduction of CDs on various raw materials (from 10-25% to
5-10%) will benefit a number of industries including glass,
ceramics, rubber, paper, furniture, paint, electrical, plastic and
baby diaper: positively contribute to investment, production and
sales
 Reduction of SD on intermediate input by 5%: positive for
local firms producing filament bulb
 Reduction of VAT by 5% for local mobile phone assembling

Leather: Proposed reduction of SD on selected inputs of
leather and footwear (e.g. prepared water pigments;
polishes, creams: from 20% to15%): Likely to reduce
production cost.
Jute: Given the weak state of export and poor
competitiveness, the tax deduction at source from 0.8% to
0.6% would not be adequate to compensate their loses.
RMG and Textile: Reduction of tax at source from 0.8% to
0.3% (till June, 2015) along with other financial support
have given relief to entrepreneurs and help undertaking
necessary retrofitting measures to make the factories
compliant: Enforcement of minimum wage should be
contingent

materials of pharmaceuticals industry from 15-25% to
5% would reduce cost of raw materials.
Special Economic Zones: Four SEZs will be set up
under Bangladesh Economic Zones Development
Fund at a cost of Tk.81.95 crore with 97% financial
support from IDA, WB’s soft-lending facility
DEFENSE
 Explicit allocation for Defense services is 6.6% of total
expenditure (7.0% in RBFY14).
 In budget 2014-15 total 16478 core taka is allcated for
defense sector , which is 6.6% of total budget
expenditure.
 One may except this allocation to increase at the
end of the year as per past treand.
