We all are well versed with touch screens, and many have annoyed Siri with voice commands, but exciting developments are happening in the areas of gesture recognition, face detection, eye tracking, thought and smell. All of these available interactions will have a profound impact on the way people interact with technology, so much so that in the not too-distant future, we will interact with technology in the same way we interact with each other – naturally!
Since the arrival of Interactive Whiteboards in our classrooms three years ago, we have witnessed varied responses from teachers, principals and stakeholders. IWBs are expensive and didactically powerful devices which should be made the most of, as an effective usage proves to have excellent results in terms of methodology and assessment implementation. This talk explores IWBs actual possibilities regarding linguistic and digital competence achievement and aspects such as classroom management; IWB tools, techniques and applications; or training and continuing professional development.
Designing Our Future: Technologies and Behaviors that Impact DesignMarci Ikeler
As our world becomes increasingly digital, experience design is more important than ever.
And, as experience design gains importance, the discipline and its tools are evolving. The very definition has broadened: rather than considering point-and-click interfaces, experience design is about the way that we engage with technology, the world, and ourselves. As such, it’s no longer the domain of a single expert (a UX designer, IA, or IxD); it’s a view of the broader world that every role must consider.
At Little Arrows, we’re passionate about identifying places where real behavior and technology intersect, and designing solutions to take advantage of these opportunities. These trends in experience design are what we’re excited about for the future.
Topics covered include:
- Everything is an Interface - new interfaces beyond the mouse and screen
- Friction-Free Commerce - evolving ways to pay
- Mobile First, Mobile Everywhere - how mobile interfaces impact design
- Physical / Digital - the disappearing boundaries between the physical and digital worlds
- Surfacing Data - new ways of understanding and consuming information
- Better, Faster, Stronger - how technology can improve our bodies and our selves
"Una realtà non ci fu data e non c’è, ma dobbiamo farcela noi, se vogliamo essere: e non sarà mai una per tutti, una per sempre, ma di continuo e infinitamente mutabile." (Pirandello). Our identity, as persons, can be defined on a philosophical, psychological or legal level. With the age of Internet, the idea of a digital identity spreads even more, that is all the facets we uses on web, and all the accounts we use in differents sites. That is nothing more than 2.0 version of a Pirandello concept.
This issue of unity in molteplicity is so daily, relevant and urgent, that European Union decided to unify digital and legal identity with eIDAS regulation, in Italy with SPID: not only a single sign on for Public Administration, but also a certified account that will replace all legal documents, a real digital citizenship.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.
Fonts play a crucial role in both User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design. They affect readability, accessibility, aesthetics, and overall user perception.
