The document is a letter from the Tinkertime Team at MACC Primary informing families about a new "Tinkertime Take Home Challenge" activity called "My Place in Space". It encourages families to work together to design "Your Place in Outta Space" using materials provided in a take home pack. Families are asked to consider how their design will help them live in space and whether it will exist on another planet or float in space. Completed designs should be 2D, using provided components, and returned to school to be displayed as part of a planetarium exhibit.

To all MACC Primary families,
Yesterday we sent home our first ever Tinkertime Take Home Challenge called 'My
Place In Space', this is our second launch activity for our Tinkertime initiative that
seeks to engage students in MAKING moments, learning new skills and technologies
whilst having a lot of fun in the process.
We thought it could be a lot of fun for each MACC family to have a go together at
designing Your Place in Outta Space! This activity is designed to be fun and interesting
for all to get involved with and to be brought back and displayed as a part of Pope's
Planetarium otherwise know as the College.

Click on the Learn and Craft tabs for some very helpful advice on setting up your small
electrical circuit and overlaying your families space place.
Some questions to consider for your design:
• How will your design help you live in space?
• Will it exist on another planet or floating in space?
It needs to:
• Be in 2D format. The components can be stuck onto paper or cardboard,
making it easy to transport and display.
• Use the components in the take home pack that you received. Other items
can be added to it.
• Be returned to show what has designed.
If for some reason something is not working or you make an error do not fear we
have a few spare lengths of copper tape and coin cell batteries back at College.
We can't wait to see another set of marvellous creations here at MACC on Monday
