The annual Mount Annan Christian College Swimming Carnival will be held on Monday February 8th, 2016 at Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury. It is compulsory for students in Years 3-12. Transportation will be provided by the College. Students are encouraged to dress in their House colors and participate in spirit activities. The Carnival aims to be a fun community event for students, families, and supporters of the College houses.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
On Monday 8th
February 2016, the annual Mount Annan Christian College Swimming Carnival will be
held commencing at 9am sharp. This year the event will be a whole College event with students from
Year 3 to Year 12 competing on the same day to advance through to the Zone Carnivals. The event is a
compulsory College day for students in Years 3‐12.
The carnival will be held at Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre (Bradbury Pool), The Parkway
BRADBURY.
Students who are wishing to compete in the 200m Individual Medley (1 lap of each stroke), the 100m
Freestyle and the 50m Butterfly will be required to be at the Pool by 8am sharp, as these event will be
run earlier due to smaller numbers of competitors.
The College will provide transportation for those students requiring transport, departing the College
at 8:20am. It is vital for families to indicate this on the return slip so that we can accommodate the
number of students needing transport. All students who are able to find their own transportation to
the carnival are encouraged to do so and will also need to indicate this on the return slip.
Class rolls will be marked at the beginning and conclusion of the day. Parental/guardian written
permission is required for any student leaving the carnival early or going home with a different family.
Students are encouraged to dress in their House colours, as long as the attire is appropriate and within
the ethos of the College. The annual “rubber ducky” award will be again awarded to the best dressed
house, with the best spirit and participation in the carnival. It is encouraged that all students get
involved in the spirit of the day by dressing up and supporting their house and peers. Students are
required to wear modest costumes; female students are only permitted to swim in a 1 piece costume.
This is a requirement of NSW Combined Independent Schools and is further enforced by the College.

All students are expected to wear a hat when not competing. Students are also required to wear their
own sunscreen and reapply throughout the day.
Canteen facilities are available but students are advised to bring their own recess, lunch and water.
I would encourage as many parents and supporters to come dressed in House colours to add to the
community nature of the day.
