Personal Qualities:
● Diligence - listening carefully, concentrating on tasks, managing my time. I am used to working towards
deadlines, managing responsibilities, asking thoughtful questions and following things through.
● Humility - eager to learn, happy to change, willing to improve. I acknowledge that I can always improve
how I do things and learn more about what’s happening around me. I acknowledge that everyone on the
team - from the bottom of the business to the very top - has an equally important role, deserving
recognition, support and gratitude. Also, I accept my mistakes and learn from them.
● Versatility - on site or in the office, design or administration, I’m happy to enter whichever area of the
project needs me most. I learn to use the systems that are in place, keep track of my performance and
seek to balance all my different duties. I have experience working in a civil engineering consultancy, a
construction company and a recruitment agency, with involvement in engineering design, report
preparation, geotechnical investigations, construction management and administration.
● Communication - I recognise that timely, concise and complete communication is essential to a
successful business. I also enjoy building a rapport with people. Therefore, whether to discuss work in
progress, plan ahead or just ask how the day has been, I regularly engage my colleagues in conversation.

Work Experience:
● November 2014 – February 2015: Student intern on the Waterview Tunnel project, employed by
McConnell Dowell and placed in the Fletchers’ Southern Surface Works engineering team (within the
Well-Connected Alliance). I assisted one of the site engineers in managing the tunnel pavement drainage
installation. My tasks included daily site reports, recording on-site test results, cost tracking and collating
as-built information into files for the QA team.
2. ● July 2014 - November 2014: Student intern with Ashby Consulting Engineering Ltd in Warkworth. The
consultancy serves private residential development in rural areas. I assisted in on-site wastewater
treatment system design, swimming pool design, geotechnical investigations and more.
● December 2013 – April 2014: Full-time accounts assistant at Alpha Personnel Recruitment Ltd. Tasks
include weekly pay roll for 235 staff, invoicing, PAYE, spread sheeting results and coding in MYOB.
● July 2013: Visitor Interviewer for the Auckland Museum Visitor and Market Research department. I
conducted a survey of visitors to the Museum for planning and development purposes.
● January 2013 – February 2013: Casual labourer with Hays recruitment. One job in St Heliers, Auckland,
involved assisting builders in erecting a temporary structure out of scaffold bars, steel frames and shrink
wrap on a mansion roof, to provide shelter for further works.
Education:
● 2010 – 2013: BE(Hons), specialising in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of
Auckland. Awarded First in Class for Materials Science in 2011.
● 2005 – 2009: Attended Auckland Grammar School. Achievements include two NZQA scholarship prizes
for Classics and Physics.
Extra-Curricular:
At university, I was a committed student leader in the Christian group Student Life, organising bible
studies with a co-leader, conducting face to face questionnaires around campus, advertising events, etc.
While in high school, I was a member of the Headmaster’s Environmental committee, co-leader of the
Writing Group and a leader of a high school Christian group, The Rock.
I’ve also helped out at community events run by the Rotary Club of East Auckland and Greenlane
Christian Centre. My volunteer work has included customer service, storekeeping, competition results
collation and general labour.
Interests:
I enjoy walking, cycling, reading, singing, playing with my 3-year-old niece, entertaining friends for dinner,
participating in community activities and making friends everywhere I go.
