Engineering Village Director July 2014 - Present
Provide oversight and management of the Engineering Living-Learning community’s mission including strategic
planning, learning outcome-based initiative development, high-impact activities, program planning and
implementation, Advisory Board leadership, partnership development, Village member recruitment and related
administration, peer mentor supervision, Village student council advising, Village academic course development,
administration and teaching.
Assistant Director, Wolf Ridge Apartments February 2012 – July 2014
Intimately involved in the planning, construction and opening of $140 million apartment community housing 1195
upper-classed student. Responsible for $5million in purchases by researching, organizing and creating RFP’s,
selecting winning bids and planning for the delivery and installation of furniture, fixture and equipment. Performed
overhead, in-wall, electrical, plumbing and mechanical walk-throughs for pre-final and final inspections identifying
punch-list items. Performed market survey of neighboring institutions for sub-leasing policies and protocols to
develop a sub-leasing process in consultation with University Legal office to best meet the needs of lease holders.
Assistant Director, Wolf Village Apartments August 2007 – February 2012
Responsible for the oversight, planning and management of 1204 bed apartment community for upper-classed
students. Oversight of an area budget totaling $1.08 million including operating, maintenance, programming and
capital expenditures. Supervised, trained and developed professional and paraprofessional staff to support the
holistic development of students.
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (2005 – 2007)
A public, research land-grant institution serving over 10, 000 students with strengths in Engineering and is considered the top
public historically black institution in the nation.
Area Coordinator, North Campus August 2005 – August 2007
Provided leadership for an area of campus consisting of suite-style, traditional and master-leased apartment units housing 1800
first year through graduate students. Supervised, trained and evaluated post bachelor and master level professional staff and
indirectly supervised 72 paraprofessional staff members. Was directly responsible for the recruitment, selection and training of
paraprofessional staff for the department. Served on University Learning Community Commission to provide Residence Life
perspective and insight in the creation of living-learning communities. The result was the creation of 6-living-learning
communities (Nursing, Honors, Teaching Fellows and Engineering). Advised students in the establishment and registering of
an organization to meet the needs of LGBT students entitled H.E.R.O.
Hall Director, River Walk Apartments December 2003 – August 2005
Managed a 200 unit master leased apartment community housing upper-classed and graduate students. Supervised
two graduate assistants to provide a residential programming curriculum in support of life skills, academic success
and professional development. Liaised with private apartment community to develop maintenance process and
protocol to address student concerns. Worked with private management to schedule, plan and renovate apartments
pre-move-in and post move-out processes.
