El Open Source está en todas partes: tu ordenador, móvil, coche e incluso... ¡tu frigorífico y lavadora! Cuando alguien habla contribuir al Open Source todo el mundo piensa inmediatamente en enviar parches de código, pero hay muchas más formas de hacerlo. En esta charla aprenderás un poco de la historia del Open Source, cómo surgió, personas destacas, formas de contribuir a proyectos Open Source y a participar en las distintas comunidades. Verás que esto puede ser bueno para tu carrera y futuro profesional. Finalmente contaré en primera persona cómo pasé de empezar a contribuir en distintos proyectos a liderar la comunidad de Groovy de Madrid, colaborar en la organización de la conferencia Greach, trabajar en una empresa totalmente pro-Open Source y finalmente ser contratado para trabajar en el equipo de desarrollo del framework Grails en OCI.

Controle de versão com git
Git is distributed revision control software that allows for version control of code across multiple platforms. It was created by Linus Torvalds and is currently maintained by Junio Hamano. Some basic Git commands include configuring user information with git config, initializing a repository with git init, cloning an existing repository with git commit, adding and committing files. A key difference between Git and SVN is that Git commits are local so code can be committed without internet access. Remote repositories can be added and code can be pushed or pulled between local and remote versions. Branching allows different versions to exist simultaneously and merging brings those branches back together.

Keeping hundreds of code repositories consistent, and staying sane by Vincent...
With the move to microservices architecture, a lot of teams end up managing dozens of code repositories (vs just a couple before), and some tasks that were done quickly manually are now becoming very time consuming : consistency of the repositories, and eventually of your platform, gets impacted, making it more and more difficult to manage.
Surely, there must be some tools existing to take care of boring tasks like finding where a given dependency is used, and upgrade it automatically (this is just an example)... Well actually, we didn't find anything, so we implemented them ourselves and made them available for everyone !

Software Heritage: Archiving the Free Software Commons for Fun & Profit
ABSTRACT: The ambition of the Software Heritage project is to collect, preserve, and share the entire body of free software that is published on the Internet in source code form, together with its development history. Since its public announcement in 2016, the project has assembled the largest collection of freely available software source code for about 5 billion unique source code files and 1 billion commits, coming from more than 80 million projects.
Initially focused on the collection and preservation goals - which were at the time urgent, due to the recurrent disappearances of development forges - Software Heritage has since rolled out several mechanisms to peruse its archive, making progress on the sharing goal.
In this talk, we will review the status of the Software Heritage project, emphasizing how users and developers can, today, benefit from the availability of a great public library of source code.
BIO: Stefano Zacchiroli is Associate Professor of Computer Science at University Paris Diderot on leave at Inria. His research interests span formal methods, software preservation, and Free/Open Source Software engineering. He is co-founder and current CTO of the Software Heritage project. He is an official member of the Debian Project since 2001, where he was elected to serve as Debian Project Leader for 3 terms in a row over the period 2010-2013. He is a former Board Director of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) and recipient of the 2015 O'Reilly Open Source Award.

Spring IO 2023 - Dynamic OpenAPIs with Spring Cloud Gateway
Imagine this scenario. You follow an OpenAPI-first approach when designing your services. You have a distributed architecture with multiple services and all of them expose a RESTful API and have their OpenAPI Specification. Now you use Spring Cloud Gateway in front of them so you can route the requests to the appropriate service and apply cross-cutting concerns. But, what happens with the OpenAPI of every service? It would be great if you could generate a unique OpenAPI for the whole system in the Gateway. You could also expose and transform only selected endpoints when defining them as public. And what about the routes? You would like to reconfigure them dynamically and on-the-fly in the Gateway when there is a change in a service, right?
Stop imagining. In this talk, I will show you how we have done that in our product and how we are leveraging the programmatic Spring Cloud Gateway API to reconfigure the routes on the fly. You will also see it in action during the demo!

Ivan Lopez presented on Micronaut, a new Java framework for building microservices. Some key features of Micronaut include being ultra-lightweight and reactive using Netty, ahead of time compilation with no reflection at runtime for improved performance, and native support for cloud-native applications and serverless environments. It also aims to improve developer productivity through features like dependency injection and reflection-free compilation. Lopez demonstrated example Micronaut code and provided several links for learning more about Micronaut.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible.
