Cannabis sativa, commonly known as marijuana, has many medical, commercial, and social uses. It has been used for thousands of years to treat diseases like HIV/AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, asthma, and more. However, it is also one of the most controversial plants due to debates around its impacts on health, aggression, and motivation. While research on its medical utility continues, studies so far have not found clear evidence that marijuana alone causes health or social harms. More research is still needed to better understand marijuana and maximize its benefits.
