2. Enhancing Feed Quality in Feed Plant
Apart from the main process machines and
conveying equipments, the machines and
systems described here also are important
to feed plant operation.
These are Cleaning Equipments, Air
Aspirators, Breathers, Impurity Separators.
Many of them are made by us and some
them bought from our regular suppliers to
our specifications and quality check.
3. Salient Features Of The Machines & Systems
These are essential components to produce clean
good quality feed, but normally not considered
because of the additional cost involved.
Using some of these components save damage and
heavy maintenance to the main machines.
These units also help for making feed of
international standards.
These are described in the following slides.

Many of these are used in the material streams.
Though adding to the plant cost, these, safeguards
the machines and conveying equipments.
Pays back the cost in a reasonable time.
They include :Cascade Type Magnets which are to be
cleaned manually, Auto Clean Cascade Magnets, Stone
Remover with Magnetic Separator, Spout Magnets
fitted on line which are manually cleaned, Jute Twine
Remover and Cake Crusher fitted on line to remove
the jute strings coming with the raw material and
break the raw material cakes .
5. Salient Features Of The Machines & Systems
They also include: Local Aspiration Units, Air
Breathers on various bins, hoppers and elevator
bottoms, On Line Weigher, On Line Metal
Detector, On line Check Weigher with Rejection
Units, Telescopic conveyors, Radar Level Sensors,
Molasses Heaters, Plant Voltage Stabiliser etc.
The Automation and reporting system we have
done is now becoming more acceptable in various
other plants too.
6. Aspiration Units
Many of the plants are now using localised
aspiration unit for worker safety and dust
control.
Local Aspiration units can be used in bucket
elevators and conveyors too.
Different sizes and different capacity units are
available.
Aspiration with auto run on dump hopper can be
supplied too. For premix this entire unit can be of
Stainless Steel.
11. Jute Twine Remover
Totally designed by CEASPL for mainly Indian plants where
raw material comes to the plant in Jute bags.
The machine is installed at the outlet of the intake
elevator.
The specially designed rotor traps the jute strings and
some of the longer plastic ropes. To rotor has to be
burned to remove the strings.
The special drive system ensures silent operation of the
unit.
Now this unit has become a standard machine for all the
feed plants.
15. Cake Crusher
This also is another machine designed by CEASPL for mainly
Indian plants where raw material comes in soft cake and
cake forms.
We use this on the raw material intake for the silo storage.
The machine is installed at the outlet of the intake elevator,
just above the magnet system and Jute twine remover.
This with the magnet, Jute twine remover and a low
pressure blower system in the DORB silo storage intake
allows a 95% clean product to go into the silo.
The machine used in the cake storage line breaks the cakes
before going to the silo.
17. Cascade Magnet
These magnets are installed at the outlet of the
intake elevator, batch elevator and Mix feed elevator.
There are three types of these units.
1. With Manual Clean.
2. With Auto Clean.
3. With Diamond shape Auto Clean.
The ferrous material is collected into a small hopper
or box. The cleaning cycle time can be set with a
control unit or through the automation/batching
computer.
These are made of stainless steel.
21. Spout Magnets
Spout magnets are installed where space is a
constraint.
These magnets are installed at the outlet of the
Intake elevator, Batch elevator and Mix feed
elevator.
The ferrous material is collected in the magnets
fitted on hinges at the sides of the unit.
The cleaning is manually done.
These are made of stainless steel.
23. Air Breather
These are one more of the CEASPL designed unit.
These units replace the air bags fitted on top of
the bins, elevator bottoms and other places.
The unit has long life and cleans by itself.
The Air Breathers are made of special membrane
filter and enclosed in a metal cage.
It is less cumbersome to fit and takes less space
for installation.
26. Stone Remover
These units are fitted after the feeder and above the
hammer mill.
The unit has an in built magnet, air control vanes and
a tray to collect the stones and other heavy particles.
The magnets remove the ferrous pieces and powder.
The unit can be easily installed.
It works only if an aspiration unit is part of the
hammer mill.
28. Bag Cleaning Machine
The Bag Cleaning unit is not part of the process
machines.
The machine cleans the used Jute Bags, there by
increasing the resale value of the bags, and
recovering the raw material stuck to the bags for re
use.
The used Jute bags are mainly DORB and bags
handling powders are cleaned through this system.
Approximately 200 gms to 450 gms of raw material is
recovered through the system.
The machine can clean approximately 10 to 15 bags
per minute.
The cleaning operation is done manually.
30. Check Weigher
The weighed bags are checked for the correctness of
the weight on line.
The machine can generate an alarm, for manually
removing the bag or can be fitted with an auto
rejection system.
Display and counter about the number of bags rejected
is available with the machine.
The machine can be easily installed in existing plants.
32. Metal Detector
The weighed bags can be passed through the Metal
detection unit on line before loading the trucks or
before storage.
The machine can generate an alarm, for manually
removing the bag or can be fitted with an auto
rejection system on detection of metal particle in the
filled bags.
Units are available to detect any metal inside the
bag.
The machine can be easily installed in existing plants.
34. Plant Voltage Stabiliser Unit
The unit is fitted after the transformer.
The Stabiliser can be set to a voltage range within
which the Voltage is stabilised.
This unit helps in preventing damage to the
motors, automation systems, electronic
components keeping the output voltage within
limits.
The unit generally is installed indoors.
37. Automation
Plant automation is becoming more and more relevant
with the advancement of the process system.
Automation can be of different levels as per
requirement.
The basic unit is the batching system.
The pelleting operation also can be separately
controlled.
The entire plant can be controlled through the system
giving various reports and costing too.
The levels inside the molasses tanks, storage silo can be
made available in the system through radar sensors.
38. Automation
We can get maintenance schedules, the status of the
various drives, the motor and bearing temperatures
through the system.
The system can be used to get a correct report on the
life of the wear parts of the Hammer Mill and Pellet
Mill.
The Hammer Mill and Pellet Mill load can be controlled
controlling the feed going into it through this system.
The molasses and steam quantity can be controlled
automatically according the load of the respective
motor loads.
The operational sequences and status can be seen on
real time.
46. Silo System
More feed plants are going in for silo system to store
the raw materials and finish products.
Now there is less limitation on the material that can be
stored in the silo.
Apart from all the grains, we can also store De-oiled
rice bran, wheat bran, various oil cakes etc..
Special discharge systems and feeding and cleaning
systems are used for storing the raw materials in silo.
Finished pellets also can be stored in silo. This enables
the plant to run un interrupted in case the bagging
operation is on maintenance or repair.
52. Sampling System
Auto sample collection units can be provided at any
required points to collect samples for quality checks.
The simple system will collect the sample at set times
to a collection system fitted near to the unit.
But systems which can take the sample and convey it to
the analysing point also is available.
Auto analysing of the moisture at various levels also can
be done.
The other units used for quality controls are the pellet
durability testing unit and the NIR analyser.
