This document discusses synergy in teaching and learning and its relationship to educational technology and learning theories. Synergy refers to the combined effect of multiple factors being greater than their individual effects. In teaching, synergy involves the concerted impact of methods, strategies, principles, and appropriate technologies and materials tailored to the content. A comprehensive understanding of how education and technology complement each other is important for convincing teachers and students to use technology as a tool for teaching and learning. Constructivist learning theory, which holds that students build their own understandings from experiences, finds relevance in the use of educational technology.

teaching and learning, application of appropriate

evaluative
materials
which are
appropriate
to the content.

important to convince teachers and students to
use technology as a tool of teaching and learning.

The ability to use the computer and its various
applications to search, process, organize and
presents information.

which maybe face to face or thru different media. It
is sharing of information, thoughts, feelings and
emotions, process of encoding and decoding ideas
and concepts.

Ages where students in the Arts build their own
ideas and concepts

phenomenon and they

of educational technology. It has similarities with
constructivism in their analysis of how learning
tales place.
