The
  Native
  vs
  Hybrid
  debate
  is
  back
  again.
  This
  has
  been
  driven
  by
  some
  new
  players
  coming
  out
  of

the
  wood
  work
  recently.
  The
  main
  one
  at
  the
  moment
  being
  React
  Native.

Doing
  a
  quick
  search
  for

  hybrid
  frameworks
  on
  google
  I
  got:

• Ionic

  Angular

• Sencha
  Touch

• Kendo
  UI

• PhoneGap

Looking at the regional interest
6
Looking
  at
  the
  regional
  interest
  what
  I
  couldn’t
  believe

was
  that
  Kendo
  UI
  was
  the
  only
  one
  which
  had

Australia
  mentioned
  in
  the
  top
  6.
  That
  blew
  me
  away.

I
  had
  heard
  Kendo
  UI
  mentioned
  multiple
  times
  by

clients
  but
  never
  thought
  there
  was
  that
  kind
  of

interest
  in
  Australia
  to
  actually
  use
  it
  and
  have
  us

mentioned
  in
  the
  trends.

Conclusion

I
  then
  thought
  let
  me
  have
  a
  look
  at
  trends
  relating
  to
  what
  I
  think
  are
  the
  major
  players.
  This
  is
  what
  I

got:

• Microsoft
  bought
  Sunrise
  for
  $100m
  (hopefully
  they
  don’t
  ruin
  it)

• Apple
  Watch
  Release
  date
  is
  apparently
  April

• Apple
  will
  release
  streaming
  music
  service
  to
  rival
  Spotify
  on
  Android
  and
  iOS
  in
  June
  (WWDC)

• Has
  anyone
  started
  playing
  with
  WatchKit
  and
  what
  are
  there
  thoughts?

• React
  Native,
  what
  do
  people
  think?
  A
  real
  player
  or
  the
  next
  thing
  to
  hype
  then
  bust?

• iOS9
  is
  rumoured
  to
  be
  bug
  fix
  release
  and
  mainly
  stability
  enhancements
  very
  little
  new
  stuff.

• Microsoft,
  Apple,
  Facebook
  and
  Twitter
  are
  all
  looking
  at
  chewing
  into
  Google’s
  bottom
  line.
  So
  I

think
  2015
  will
  be
  an
  interesting
  year
  for
  Google
  in
  2015.

• Facebook
  and
  Twitter
  are
  hitting
  there
  ad
