Swiss Space Systems (S3) aims to provide low-cost access to space for small payloads of around 250kg through the development of a reusable suborbital spaceship called SOAR. S3 has a budget of $250 million until the first SOAR launch in 2017, and plans to establish spaceports in multiple regions to provide flexible launch opportunities. S3's solution focuses on affordability, flexibility, responsiveness, and recurring operations to meet the growing demand for small satellite launches.
