About the Visit
From all our historic military conflicts the museum has retained small
arms (infantry weapons), aiding the understanding of our enemies. This
is a fantastic opportunity to view rare small arms from around the
world.
Programme
18:30 Visit starts and should last 1.5 to 2 hours.
Additional Information
Numbers are limited to 25. Photographic Identification (e.g. driving
licence) will be required to gain access and preference will be given to
those who did not attend the previous visit.

The safe operation of a railway system is critically dependent on a
signalling system to monitor and control the movement of the rail
traffic. Schneider Electric Ltd will explain during this presentation how
their system can prevent power faults on the signalling system.

This workshop will give members and non-members the opportunity to
have an individual appointment with an advisor to discuss professional
registration.
Professional registration demonstrates your commitment to
professionalism and recognises your skills and experience. There are
four types of registration:
Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng)
Engineering Technician (EngTech), ICT Technician (ICT Tech)
Registration Information
If you would like to book an appointment, please send an email to
getchartered@theiet.org with Swindon in the subject line. You will
need to provide your name, your membership number (if applicable), a
contact telephone number, details of the level of professional
registration you are interested in and a preferred time for your
appointment.
Appointments are available from 16:00 to 20:00 hrs. We will try our
best to accommodate your preferred time.

About the Competition
Any young engineers fancy themselves as an after dinner speaker?
Some greats started presenting to small groups.
An opportunity for up to 8 young engineers and students aged between
18 and 25 to present to a small audience and also an opportunity for
the audience to watch and question the views of the next generation of
engineers.

Additional Information
Each presentation lasts for fifteen minutes including questions. There
are prizes of £150 and £100 for 1st and 2nd places and a years IET
membership. The winner of the local competition can progress
through further rounds to the global final with a prize of £1000.

Jack Aust has been the Chief Engineer at Devonport Dockyard for some
years and has had to overcome many engineering challenges. In this

issues have been overcome.
