Swimming
When summer
begins to heat up,
there is nothing
better than
heading to the
nearby pool
Summer time is prime time for pools, but
it’s also the high season for drowning
Swimming Pool Accidents
Drowning is the
second leading cause
of death for children
Non-fatal
drowning injuries
can cause serious
brain problems
and long-term
disabilities
Just a few simple actions
can prevent accidents and
even save lives
It's important to take
appropriate precautions
to prevent accidents
and injuries
1. Allow your child to learn how to swim by enrolling
them in swim lessons
2. Teach your
child not to
swim near
pool drains or
suction
outlets
3. Avoid
distractions when
your child is in or
around water
4. If your child is a
new swimmer, it
is prudent to wear
a life jacket in the
pool every time
5. Set a time limit for swimming and
get out of the pool before getting tired
6. Teach your children to look for
the designated markings
7. Never let
children dive into a
shallow end of a
pool or a body of
water with an
unknown depth
8. Don't leave toys in the pool area or use
chemical dispensers that look like toys
9. Keep kids away from water when they
are not with an adult
10. Prepare a swim lesson plan structure
