One of the most valuable communication skills is Listening, yet it is a skill that is much undervalued. There is so much focus on 'Speaking like a boss' or "Tell your story" yet LISTENING to your clients, colleagues and prospects is INVALUABLE. And your clients feel valued when you take the time to listen to them. One of our most popular courses is Listening with Impact where you discover why you should listen; how to actively listen and be present in conversations; how to demonstrate you are listening face to face and also virtually.
Assertiveness and being able to manage your time and brand are essential skills for any ambitious person. In our "Say what you want; say what you mean" workshop - and virtual workshop, we work with teams and organisations to develop this skill. Also available as one to one training. Susan Heaton-Wright Lunch and Learn Speeches
1. Reasons Why
Lunch & Learn
Events are
beneficial for
employees
www.superstarcommunicator.com
2. What are
Lunch & Learn
events?
Lunch and Learn sessions (or twilight sessions)
are events organised by companies and
businesses to provide informal learning and
professional development. There are companies
who expect attendees to bring their own lunch,
but GENERALLY, a light lunch is provided. This
encourages people to attend, and also to
network and talk to each other.
3. These events
are reasons for
employees
returning to
the office
Since the COVID restrictions have been
lifted, there are many employees who
are very keen to still work remotely, or
only be in the office a couple of times a
week.
4. This is a
chance to build
the team!
While working remotely works for some
businesses, there are still cases of teams not
knowing each other in real life as they’ve never
met each other face to face.
5. Creating an event is
an excuse for people
to return to the office
and network as part of
the occasion.
Employees who have onboard since 2020 are
less likely to know colleagues.
6. How to organise the event?
• Do some research of the types of topics that would
be of interest to employees. Also check when
managers are asking team members which days
they have been asked to be in the office.
• Pick a date and venue . It is easiest to arrange the
event internally, and many offices still have an event
space for seminars.
• Remember to book the refreshments at the same
time.
7. How to organise the event?
• There might be speakers internally who would like to
speak, but it is of added value, to invite external
speakers to deliver high quality content.
• We would recommend you schedule 1 hour, with a 30
minute talk and 30 minutes for networking before
and after the speech.
