1. Survival
In this assignment we were given the task to look over a hypothetical situation on which four
out of thirteen people are allowed to stay in a bunker in a post-apocalyptic setting. The goal for
this assignment was to narrow down each candidate and decide who lives and who dies, and
come up with arguments to support each decision.
I remember in my English class, we were given a similar assignment to prepare ourselves for
reading a novel called Lord of the Flies. I liked participating back then because it really allowed
everyone to come together in a mutual agreement and allowed us to think more realistically
instead of morally. The only thing that prevented the assignment from being any more
interesting doing it back then was for the fact that I had already known the people I was
working with and was even good friends with them. Doing this assignment again makes me feel
better about this because I got to work with people I did not know well, so I felt more involved
agreeing or disagreeing with our overall choices.
