Supply chain management involves coordinating the production, handling, and distribution of goods from raw materials to finished products. It aims to satisfy customer needs efficiently while reducing costs. For perishable goods, an effective cold chain is especially important to maintain quality during transport and storage. However, India faces challenges in its food supply chain like barriers to infrastructure and information sharing that result in inefficiencies and waste. Improving supply chain coordination and reducing bullwhip effect could help India achieve its development goals.
