How we view our earthly fathers can affect how we view our heavenly fathers. Today we are going to hear some words from a loving father, our heavenly father.
Summer 7- Words from a loving father, Hans Rasmussen, 6-19-16
1.
2. 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the
Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John
tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be
baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is
proper for us to do this to fulfill all
righteousness.” Then John consented.
Matt. 3:13-17
3. 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he
went up out of the water. At that
moment heaven was opened, and he saw
the Spirit of God descending like a dove
and alighting on him. 17 And a voice
from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom
I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Matt. 3:13-17
7. Jesus said to them, “My Father is
always at his work to this very day, and
I, too, am working.” For this reason the
Jews tried all the harder to kill him;
not only was he breaking the Sabbath,
but he was even calling God his own
Father, making himself equal with God.
John 5:17-20
8. Jesus gave them this answer:“I tell you the
truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he
can do only what he sees his Father doing,
because whatever the Father does the Son
also does. For the Father loves the Son and
shows him all he does. Yes, to your
amazement he will show him even greater
things than these.
John 5:17-20
9. Similarly, encourage the young men to be
self- controlled. In everything set them an
example by doing what is good. In your
teaching show integrity, seriousness and
soundness of speech that cannot be
condemned, so that those who oppose you
may be ashamed because they have nothing
bad to say about us.
Titus 2:6-8
