-er, -or, -ist
These common noun suffixes added to
nouns or verbs, describe people and their
occupations.
Farm- farmer
Visit- visitor
Psychology- psychologist

 “-er” is used for a person who does an
activity.
writer, worker, shopper,
teacher
 Sometimes this suffix is written as
“-or” instead of “-er”.
actor, operator, sailor,
supervisor

5.  “-ist” is also often used for people
who play musical instruments.
e.g. Pianist, violinist.
