SUCCESSFUL TRAITS
When people tell you stories about successful men like Bill Gates or Ortega or
Warren Buffet or Carlos Slim, what actual poops in your mind? Okay maybe you
would be thinking of going to college, getting a first class degree, working for the
big firms or maybe become a cyber-criminal which is of course super-stupid. Let’s
look at a man who didn’t get much time at school, his father worked at a railroad
while his mother serving as a maid; Amancio Ortega who is now the second rich-
est man in the world. When I read his story I came up with only three or four
facts about his success; observation, mindset, passion and good work.
The fact that I went to school eats me alive when I hear stories about richest men
who never attended one or dropped at college. That’s right you may call that say-
ing that “The world is not fear”, but I think if a man who never attended a college
can do and achieve that much you can be better.
So from Ortega’s story the lesson about observation is paying attention, working
at his 13 he was attentive to how the clothing industry work; trend in prices, mar-
ket, time, levels and procedures. He dis-appreciated the presence of middle men in
doing business because of the interruption they cause. Working as a shirt delivery
boy he became passionate and very focused enough to found his own company
when he was 27 years old. I remember first time I saw a shoe branded ZARA I
wanted so badly to have it, do you know why? It’s because it is a good and perfect
work. And that is the work of Amancio Ortega Gaona.
So to all motivators, teachers and mentors don’t tell people to just get busy tell
them to find their passion, don’t teach them to do stuffs let them learn to observe
and pay attention, tell them to grow mindsets and always do good in whatever
they do.
Sometimes what we don’t see in these men’s stories is the fact that every success
road starts with the right mind, winning attitude, and action (good work). When
you have just a right mindset you find what you love, there is nothing you can do
perfect than the thing you love. So this passion will definitely encourage in you
that winning attitude which will pursue and push you to good ending. This is the
power behind every successful story you always hear.
