Success as a Student
A DIFFICULT TASK MADE A LITTLE EASIER
Time Management
 Making sure you have enough time to complete
assignments is crucial to your success.
 You don’t need to sit down for 8 hours a day, however
at least an hour each day will benefit you the most.
This will prevent you from having that 8 hour
homework day.
 Planning ahead is always a good idea. Split your work
up for the week with something to do each day. The
knowledge will always be fresh and this give you
plenty of time to make up work if you miss a day.
Resources and Help
 There are academic advisors at school who are available to help
you decide the career path that you want to take and give you all
the information to start.
 If you are planning to transfer to another institution the student
center is there for you too. Not only can they help you choose the
right school, they can get you into contact with the school and help
you prepare to transfer.
 If you are graduating or just ready to look for a job in your field there
are counselors available for every step. From seeking a job, to
writing a resume, to interviewing techniques.
Money Management
 Money can become very tight as a student whether you have a job
or not. So its important to budget correctly.
 The most important thing you can do is not spend money just
because you have it, any extra money you have should be saved or
rolled over to the next month. Try to have all money for bills set aside
ahead of time.
 Buying groceries is another great suggestion. Making your own food
is so cheap you can easily eat for over a day on the same amount
of money you might spend and a cheap restaurant or bar tab.
