Student Engagement
formula
Gn=Wn % Ng
Created by Teaching engineer/
Osama Ghandour
Essential question
• How to implement a flow chart then write a
pseudocode as preparing for designing a computer
program
Student Engagement
formula
Gn=Wn % Ng
Gn = Capstone Group number
Ng= total number of capstone
groups in Class
Wn= Week number in semester
% is the remainder operator
Student Engagement formula
Example 1
what is the Capstone Group number ?
If a class has 6 Capstone Groups each of 4 students
and the studing in week number 7 the formula
Gn=Wn % Ng then substituting Gn = 7%6 = 1
so group number 1 will prepare for Learning
outcome of week Nu 7 and present it to all class and
help the teacher
Student Engagement formula
Example 2
what is the Capstone Group number ?
If a class has 11 Capstone Groups each of 4 students
and the studying in week number 13 the formula
Gn=Wn % Ng then substituting Gn = 13%11 = 2
so group number 2 will prepare for Learning
outcome of week Nu 13 and present it to all class
and help the teacher
Student Engagement formula
Example 3
what is the Capstone Group number for presenting and
helping teacher ?
If a class starts with Capstone Group number 23 and ends
31 and the studying in week number 12 , first we calculate
number of groups Ng=31-23+1 = 9 then apply the formula
Gn=Wn % Ng then substituting
Gn = 12%9 = 3
so group number 3 will prepare for Learning outcome of
week Nu 12 and present it to all class and help the teacher
Activity 4 Listen to this video about
Student Engagement formula

Activity 4
• Using your lap tops or papers draw a flowchart as pre step for a
program for teachers and students in an international school for use
Student Engagement formula
Gn=Wn % Ng
Note the program will ask the user to enter the Wn Value which is the
Week number in semester and to enter the Ng Value which is the
total number of capstone groups in Class then the program will
calculate and print Gn Value which is Capstone Group number which
will present the session.
Exit ticket Activity 5
•Mention 2 things you learned
through the session .
Home work
•Complete the flowchart which you
started in Activity 4 and develop it
using loops to create a Table of
Capstone Group numbers which will
present in their sessions during a give
week through the semester .
