Structured observation would be the best method to collect data to answer the question about how nurses interact with patients. The researcher would need to be aware of personal biases and use checklists and rating scales during observations to objectively record interactions. A self-report method would not be good since it could be influenced by social desirability bias and lead to incorrect conclusions.

The word structure implies organization. People who work in an organization are grouped so that their efforts can be channeled for maximum efficiency. Organizational structure consists of three key elements:18
· 1. Organizational structure designates formal reporting relationships, including the number of levels in the hierarchy and the span of control of managers and supervisors. Who reports to whom in the structural hierarchy? This is a key component of a firm’s structure. A span of control determines the number of subordinates directly reporting to each supervisor. In some structures, a manager may have a wide span of control, suggesting a large number of subordinates, while other structures mandate narrow spans of control and few individuals reporting directly to any supervisor. For some companies, the reporting relationship may be rigid and bureaucratic; other firms require flexibility and informality across hierarchical levels.
· 2. Organizational structure identifies the grouping together of individuals into departments and departments into the total organization. How are individuals collected into larger groups? Starting with the smallest, units of a structure continually recombine with other units to create larger groups, or organizations of individuals. These groups, referred to as departments, may be grouped along a variety of different logical patterns. For example, among the most common reasons for creating departments are (1) function—grouping people performing similar activities into similar departments, (2) product—grouping people working on similar product lines into departments, (3) geography—grouping people within similar geographical regions or physical locations into departments, and (4) project—grouping people involved in the same project into a department. We will discuss some of these more common departmental arrangements in detail later in this chapter.
· 3. Organizational structure includes the design of systems to ensure effective communication, coordination, and integration of effort across departments. This third feature of organizational structure refers to the supporting mechanisms the firm relies on to reinforce and promote its structure. These supporting mechanisms may be simple or complex. In some firms, a method for ensuring effective communication is simply to mandate, through rules and procedures, the manner in which project team members must communicate with one another and the types of information they must routinely share. Other companies use more sophisticated or complex methods for promoting coordination, such as the creation of special project offices apart from the rest of the company where project team members work for the duration of the project. The key thrust behind this third element in organizational structure implies that simply creating a logical ordering or hierarchy of personnel for an organization is not sufficient unless it is also supported by systems that ensure clear communication a ...

Movie My Favorite Movie
Title: NEXT
As I was browsing Netflix for an exciting sci fi thriller movie, I came across a movie for one of my most favorite actors, Nicolas Cage. As known, Nicolas Cage is famous for being an adaptable actor in which he appears differently in each role he plays. His wide variety of experiences in acting have also given an impression to his viewers in which he could be perceived as an unpredictable actor in each role he plays, and that is one of the reasons why I like him.
SPOILER ALERT ! Next is a movie about 96 minutes in length that is strictly a character driven where Nicolas Cage plays as a magician known in Las Vegas as Cris Johnson, who can see few minutes and in some parts, few hours into the future and thus the FBI recruited him to help save 9 million individuals from a nuclear bomb threat in the Los Angeles area. The story of the Next goes around Cris Johnson s ability to predict what will happen in few minutes\hours into the future. At the beginning, Cris Johnson is seen performing a magic show with two FBI agents seated among the audience, after the show is done, he goes to a casino where he encounters an armed thief and with his future predicting ability, he prevented the armed thief from committing any crime by tackling him down, but unlucky the casino security approaches Cris Johnson with the thief s gun in his hand, however, with his future predicting ability he deluded the security and managed to escape. After that, the FBI agents started following

Essay about The Criminal Justice System
The Criminal Justice System
The Criminal Justice System is one of the most important tools available to society for the control of anti social behavior. The criminal justice system needs to prove a balance between punishing the guilty and protecting the innocent being found guilty; however it is not as easy to convict those who are guilty of committing crimes. There have been many miscarriages to justice where innocent people were sent to prison. Many people have been affected by crime, this is due to statistics, which show the various number of crimes committed in particular areas.
Crime statistics are compiled differently by different forces which is notoriously unreliable. There are two...show more content...Under the new rules, officers must record a crime anything that is reported as a crime. In the past, if an officer thought that someone was lying (hoping for compensation perhaps) or thought that the crime was not as major as murder for example, then he or she did not nee to record it. If the Government do succeed in the new system of compiling statistics then crime statistics may become increasingly reliable. This is because all crime is recorded, no matter how big or small the crime is. However the statistics may not necessarily be entirely true, as many people may not report their crime to the police. The majority of the crime not being reported is due to the fear within oneself, or victims may not think that the crime they have been involved in was minor. Victims who are scared are more likely to be those involved in domestic violence or other sort of abuse. If there was a couple, and the husband regularly abused his wife, the
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
1. Structured Observation
a.Structured observation would be the best method to collect data to answer this question. The researcher would need to be aware of their personal
biases in order not to skew that data but could use checklists with rating scales to observe and record how nurses interact with patients (Polit & Beck,
2012). A self–report would not be a good choice because it would be subject to social desirability response bias and might lead to incorrect conclusions
about the interactions.

Introduction:
Organizational structure provides the framework of an organization determining how roles and responsibilities are delegated throughout the different
levels of the organization. It has been defined by some as the looking glass through which coworkers see their organization and its surrounding
environment while others have described structure as the backbone of the organization. In this memo, I will briefly discuss the importance of
organizational structure, give examples of some major organizational structures, and provide factors influencing the choice of organizational structure.

For organizations which produce standardized goods and services, a functional service is beneficial. Within this structure, employees perform very
specialized tasks (Naoum, 2001). For example, an engineering department would be staffed with only software engineers. Divisional structures, also
known as product structures, groups each function into a division. Automobile industries typically use this divisional structure. Within this industry,
divisions may include: SUVs, subcompact cars, and sedans. Although not discussed in detail in this memo, other organizational structures include:
organizational circle, team, network, lattice, and virtual ("Organizational Structure", 2013).
Factors influencing the choice of Organizational Structure
The following factors can affect the type of structure which an organization may use: strategy, characteristics, management, operation, and environment.
Strategy is the most important factor influencing type of structure. According to Phillips and Gulley in their book Organizational Behavior: Tools for
3. Success, higher performance will be achieved if structure and strategy are directly related). Organizational characteristics include the age and size of the
organization. If the organization is small, there is less need for formal structure as communication

and organization are crucial for an organization to achieve maximum effectiveness and success. Microsoft Company, for instance, has an organizational
structure consisting of board of directors who include Steve Ballmer as chief executive officer (CEO), senior leaders, executives, and technical
leaders. Founded in 1975, Microsoft has grown today into a worldwide leader in software and services (Microsoft, 2009). The organizational structure

Division of labor is a part of differentiation, which divides jobs into smaller tasks and when an employee performs a specific task, it is known as
specialization. In some cases, companies divide organizational functions into divisional structure, which contain all the necessary resources required to
function. For example, a software company might have a division for home software and a division for business software both providing development
and support. Microsoft is the largest software company in the world that offers services for home and business. The company also provides
entertainment through video games for Xbox and music for Zune. In the case of Microsoft (2009) there are many different positions within the
company from Business Services & Administration to Software Engineering: User Experience and has locations throughout the world. Since
Microsoft's main function is to develop software, it would stand to reason that the largest department within the company pertains to information
technology with many specialized departments from development to support. Microsoft has many divisions within the company that include home
software and business software and provide development and support. The function of the human resources department is to organize the employees
based on their qualifications. The finance department's function is the flow of cash from accounts receivable to payroll. Microsoft is known

6. Structures of Proteins Essay
Proteins are polymeric chains that are built from monomers called amino acids. All structural and functional properties of proteins derive from the
chemical properties of the polypeptide chain. There are four levels of protein structural organization: primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary.
Primary structure is defined as the linear sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain. The secondary structure refers to certain regular geometric
figures of the chain. Tertiary structure results from long–range contacts within the chain. The quaternary structure is the organization of protein
subunits, or two or more independent polypeptide chains. The primary structure of a protein is simply the sequence of amino acids. The structure or

There may also be sections where the secondary structure is neither helix nor sheet. Then the structure is called a random structure, indicating that it
folds in random directions. The amino acids in an alpha helix are arranged in a right–handed helical structure resembling a spring. The alpha helix is
the most common form of regular secondary structure in proteins. The beta–sheet is the second form of regular secondary structure in proteins
consisting of beta strands connected laterally by three or more hydrogen bonds, forming a generally twisted, pleated sheet. The beta–sheet is sometimes
called the beta pleated sheet since sequential neighboring atoms are alternately above and below the plane of the sheet giving a pleated appearance.
Turns are the third of the three "classical" secondary structures that serve to reverse the direction of the polypeptide chain. They are located primarily
on the protein surface and accordingly contain polar and charged residues. However, they are not very common in discussions of protein structure today.
The tertiary structure of a protein molecule, or of a subunit of a protein molecule, is the arrangement of all its atoms in space, without regard to its
relationship with neighboring molecules or subunits. Tertiary structure is simply the grouping of different separate secondary structures, such as
multiple helices or multiple sheets or a combination of helices and sheets.
The final structure of the protein is the quaternary
