The analysis examined static aerodynamic forces and dynamic responses under 1 degree-of-freedom torsional and vertical vibrations. Results showed separated bubbles on the upper surface generated excitation forces that could cause torsional flutter instability. An overhanging ratio of C/D=0.5 with a handrail at an angle of 30 degrees was found to be most effective at suppressing separated flow using the separation interference method. In conclusion, CFD analysis was able to quantitatively investigate aerodynamic vibration mechanisms on 2-edge girder bridges.
