Even though our Growin’ Bag is meant for the Summer and
Spring seasons, that doesn’t mean you can’t yield strawberries
in the winter. Winterizing instructions vary in different zones:
Winterizing
• Zone 5-7:
Move the bag to a
cold garage with
a temperature
below 50 degrees
Fahrenheit. It should
be above freezing.
Remember

Move the bag out-
doors in a protected
spot where it can
receive natural
rainfall.
Water the bag lightly every four to five weeks to keep the soil
barely damp. Move the bag outdoors in early spring.

How to Use Your Growin’ Bag
Introduction
Materials
• Parks Growing Bag™
• Potting soil
(such as Park Grow Mix™,
Sta-green™, or Miracle™)
• Strawberry plants with roots
• Tape
• Sheers/Scissors
• Watering Can
• Water-Soluble fertilizer
(such as Algoflash™ or
Miracle Gro™)
• Two small three-inch pots
• Refrigerator or cool storage
area
Instructions
1. Use a watering can to lightly moisten your potting soil.
2. Fill the bag with the moistened
soil (see Fig 1). Make sure to
leave two inches of space at the
top.
3. Press the bag firmly (see Fig 2)
to eliminate any air pockets that
may have formed.
4. Fold the top of the bag over
6. Insert the strawberry plants through the
pre-cut slits in the growing bag (see Fig 3).
7. Trim the roots to about four to five
inches in length if the roots are too long.
• Plant any leftover strawberry plants in 3-inch pots or store in
a refrigerator or a cool garage. Use the remaining plants after
one to two weeks.

5. Secure the folded section with tape.
This ensures that the contents of the bag will not spill.

Aftercare Instructions
1. Water the bag thoroughly for the next one to two weeks until
the plants take root.
2. Unfold the top of the bag.
3. Fill up to the top with soil.
4. Plant the remaining strawberry plants
from the three-inch pots once the plants
have taken root,
5. Puncture holes at the bottom of the bag
if you wish to add a better drainage
system for your bag.
6. Hang the bag in a sunny location once all
the strawberry plants are planted and
secure (see Fig 4)

7. Water the bag every few days to keep the soil damp.
