was intended to improve prudent lending practices at
Indonesian banks.

Pirelli Factory Development Starts
in Late 2012

export market, especially Asia Pacific region. The remaining
three million units will be under the brand name Aspira and will
be allocated for the domestic market.
Pireli tires factory in Indonesia will not only increase Pirelli tire
production capacity which is projected to increase to 16 million
units in 2015 from last year’s 13 million units, but also will
strengthen its presence in the ASEAN market.
Beside Pirelli, South Korea’s tire company, Hankook Tire Co Ltd
also put in money in the country. Hankook tire factory
development in Cikarang, West Java is already 82 percent
completed and will start operating in November 2012.
Tire factory development is a part of Hankook’s commitment to
invest US$ 1.1 billion, with production capacity of 18 million
units of tires per year until 2018. Hankook plans to market 95
percent of their product for export, and five percent for the
