and the Bride', one of more than twenty given by scholars, is therefore a serious alternative.

Antonio Maria ZANETTI(1679?1767) made prints of the remains of the frescoes of the Fondaco del Tedeschi in Venice,
made by GIORGIONE and TIZIANO, in his 'Varie pitture a fresco de principali Maestri veneziani' of 1760. One of these
prints represents two females: a female head (left) and a nude female (half-length) with head and arms similar to the naked
female in TIZIANO's painting 'Amor sacro e profano'.

The painting, oil on canvas, 62,1 x 49,7, by Clement BURLISON (1803 Durham-1899) is similar to the oval print by Pietro
BONATO (1765-1820) and another identical print by his contemporary Antonio REGONA (1760-1853), both also entitled
'Profane Love' and recorded in this story.
The work is in the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Durham County, inventory COD-029-OL.

Dordrecht Museum.
