Steve Irwin was known as the Crocodile Hunter, growing up loving wildlife especially reptiles in Australia. He spent his life wrangling crocodiles and educating others about wildlife conservation. Though controversial for his risky animal encounters, Irwin inspired many through his enthusiasm. He tragically died at age 44 from a stingray barb piercing his heart while filming in 2006, but his legacy of wildlife protection lives on.
