Stereotyping Questionnaire
Identify the following stereotypes:
Stereotype Description
A businessman
A businessman is someone who is sophisticated. They are
social and are very good at communicating with other
people. A businessman also dresses well in order to give
off a good first impression.
A rich person
Someone who is rich tends to have all of the nicest things
available. They have large homes and expensive cars.
People who are rich also have the best clothes, such as
designer clothing, because they think they must look their
best at all times. They can also be self-centered.
A typical person your age
A typical person my age wants to be themselves. They
want to be able to do what they want when they want.
They also dress however they want to.
A poor person
A poor person is usually seen as someone who is
homeless. Homeless people are often looked upon as dirty
and/or uneducated. Poor people are also seen as lazy
because they must not be willing to work for money to
survive on.
A smart student
A smart student tends to think that they are better than
everyone else because they are smart. They always think
that they are right. A smart student can also be labeled as a
nerd or a geek.
A stubborn person
A stubborn person can be difficult to deal with. They want
everything to go their way. They will do anything to get
what they want.
A young mother
A young mother can often be seen as a single mother who
has never been married, especially if the young mother is a
teenager.
An old person
An old person is usually seen as someone who is ill. They
are also frail and have a lot of medical problems. Elderly
people can also be very wise.
A foreigner
Foreigners are often discriminated against. Depending on
what country they are from, they can be considered a
threat. Foreigners also seem like they feel as though they
must get special treatment.

2. A stock trader
A stock trader is someone who tends to have a lot of
money that they can invest. They are rich, and they have
the nicest and newest things available.
A bus driver
A bus driver can often be seen as uneducated because they
drive a bus for a living. That is not always the case though.
A singer
A singer, depending on how famous they are and what
genre of music they sing, can be seen as self-centered.
They are always wanting to be the best. They will do
almost anything to make their singing career better.
