Starfish are echinoderms that live in oceans and seas, with over 7,000 species that have 5 or more legs and a mouth in the center of their rough, colored skin. They eat slow mollusks and can regenerate lost legs, although they cannot walk and instead swim or move slowly along the seafloor.
