The newsletter provides updates from St Paul's Anglican Church parish community and a mission organization in Nepal called Just Manna Inc. Maureen shares that during a recent trip to Nepal with Peter Humphris and their Country Director Raja Wani, they completed a strategic review, conducted a performance appraisal, and attempted to run an after school program for children. NEWS FROM NEPAL
A MESSAGE FROM MAUREEN
We completed a strategic review of the organisation in Nepal,
and set goals for the future
We conducted a Performance Appraisal with the Country Director
I did a financial audit
Peter and I attempted to run the School Plus program for a week,
without Cherie who was ill and could not come (we missed her
very much). (School Plus is a 2 hour program run after school to
enhance the learning experience, children are also given a snack.
This is open to all children in the neighbourhood, many of whom
do not have parents around at that time of day).
We met with several people running other charities in Nepal, and
a trekking/photographic tour company, who have offered us
support.
I have just spent a week in Nepal with Peter Humphris and our
Country Director, Raja Wani, a wonderful week where we worked
hard and achieved a lot.
. . . and had the occasional Himalayan Java Coffee, and maybe
some Everest beer.
Raja is the heart of our organisation in Nepal - he has a genuine love
for children and a vocation to make a real difference in the world.
The children are a credit to him - they are happy and care for each
other. They are delighted with very simple pleasures (ask me about
them singing the Hokey Cokey). I have returned with a renewed
passion to enable this work to continue.
Thank you to all at St. Paul's who are helping to achieve this.

St Paul's Church Elders Morning Tea for November will be
held on Tuesday 19th November from 10am in our hall.

ARCHBISHOP VISIT!
Archbishop Kay will be visiting St Paul's Parish on the 22nd
December 2019. She will perform mass and join us in the hall
for morning tea.

Sachet Ghalle is 11 years old, his birthday is on Valentine's Day.
He is a happy lad, loves sport, especially soccer and does well
academically. He lives in one of our rented IGWR Houses in a
suburb of Kathmandu.
His Father left the family some time ago and does not give any
support. His Mother works in the
farm fields of Rasuwa, about a
6 hour drive north of Kathmandu.
The name Ghalle is pronounced
as "Golly" in Nepal, and that is
the nickname he is
affectionately known by.
If you would like to be his
