This document discusses the benefits and challenges of Open Educational Resources (OER). The benefits are that OER allows free exchange of knowledge, cost savings for students, customization of materials, and convenient online access. However, challenges include the time needed to find appropriate content, insufficient metadata to describe content, difficulty distinguishing lessons from content, too many places to search, and potentially low production quality.
