Abstract: Residues and degradation of Lambda-cyhalothrin in maize grains, the plants and soils were studied both in Jinan and
Haerbin in two years, after the seeds were treated with Lambda-cyhalothrin capsule suspension for seed treatment. The residues in
maize plant, grain and soil were not more than 0.005 mg·kg-1, 0.001 mg·kg-1 and 0.053 mg·kg-1 respectively. The degradation of
Lambda-cyhalothrin in soils followed the first-order kinetics. The half lives of Lambda-cyhalothrin in soils were 19.6~28.1 d. The
rate of degradation in Haerbin were slower than which in Jinan,which probably related to the soil moisture and air temperature of the
sites. The study provided scientific base for setting up the Maximum Residue Limit of the pesticide in maize, the guidance of safe
application and the estimation of maximum residue level.
