معمولا در افراد پیر با بیماری های زمینه ای : استئوپروز/ اختلال بینایی/ 
دمانس
بانوان/ استروک / مصرف الکل/ ......
 Mortality : 14% to 36% بخصوص در کلاس 3 و 4
اگر بیماری های زمینه ای قابل اصلاح وجود داشته باشد 
بتاخیر انداختن جراحی = کاهش مرگ و میر
ولی در افراد جوانتر و فاقد بیماری زمینه ای عقب انداختن 
جراحی بیش از 48 ساعت = افزایش مرگ ومیر
