This document provides an introduction and overview of the features of Ravelry, an online community for knitters and crocheters. It describes what Ravelry is, how to set up an account, how to use features like organizing projects, adding patterns, interacting with other users through forums and groups, and finding patterns and yarn. It includes tutorials on how to upload photos, use the library, start forum topics, and get involved with specific Ravelry groups like the Knitters Guild NSW. The goal is to help new users understand and make the most of all Ravelry has to offer.
THE WORLD’S FIRST RIFT DRIVEN® ELECTRIC ACTUATOR
For Part Turn & Multi-Turn Applications
The SmartAct®-1 electric valve actuator is the world’s first RIFT DRIVEN® product .
Its revolutionary British design has a single glass reinforced polypropylene housing that contains the RIFT motor system and gearbox. The SmartAct®-1 can be configured to produce a range of output torques up to 100Nm.
Smart, state of the art electronics provide accurate, reliable and repeatable performance characteristics and enables a comprehensive list of standard and optional features to be
offered. Optional extra cost features include failsafe and/ or modulating functionality; speed control and fieldbus communications are available to customer order.
At a time where energy consumption is becoming increasingly important to the world, the SmartAct®-1 actuator takes full advantage of the dramatic reduction in energy that the RIFT DRIVEN® system provides. This creates an electric actuator with the lowest energy usage figures available in the world market.
Standard:
- Universal power supply 12-300V
- Anti-condensation heater
- Over-torque protection
- Torque range 40, 60, 80, 100Nm
- SO5211 / EN15714-2 compliant
- Weatherproof
- Local controls
- 2 x M20 x 1.5 Cable entries
Options:
- Failsafe
- Modulating
- Fieldbus communications
- Speed control
- Data logging
- Torque profiling

MADE IN BRITAIN
The SmartAct®-1 electric actuator was conceived, designed, prototyped, and is being manufactured in Britain.
TH E RIFT DRIVEN® ADVANTAGE
RIFT is a new British innovation; significantly enhancing the motor characteristics resulting in a powerful, light, and yet energy efficient motor driven product.
HUGELY ENERGY EFFICIENT
A RIFT DRIVEN® product contains the RIFT technology that will transform motor driven systems in the future. They show weight and energy savings of over 75% compared to traditional motor driven systems.
In actuator comparison tests the SACO valve actuator is in fact over 90% more energy efficient than the market leading electric actuators it was compared with.
PID CONTROL
Combining PID control with a 10 bit magnetic electronic position sensing system, the SACO S m a r t a c t - 1 actuator gives very accurate positioning and timing capabilities. Part Turn or Multi-Turn applications can be configured with accuracy up to at least ¼ of a degree on most valves.
OPTIONAL SOLENOID FUNCTION
A huge advantage of the SACO actuator is that it is capable of very fast cycle times. This allows it to be used as a direct acting solenoid. Fitted to a full bore ball valve it eliminates the difficulties traditional solenoids face when used with dirty media.
IMPAX Virtual Colonoscopy 3.0 is an integrated software tool for virtual colonoscopy that provides automatic path-finding and fly-through capabilities for easy navigation of 3D colon images. It offers excellent visualization of endoscopic views and multi-planar reconstructions. The software segments the colon automatically and calculates a fly-through path within seconds. It allows marking and reporting of suspected lesions and generates structured reports that can be saved within the IMPAX system.
This document suggests killing cash cows, anticipating major changes, and rebooting one's thinking. In a nutshell, it advises letting go of reliable but outdated revenue sources, preparing for significant disruptions, and refreshing one's perspective.
The Norwegian Radium Hospital in Oslo is a leading cancer center in Northern Europe known for new cancer treatments and research. It has implemented IMPAX Volume Viewing to help radiologists and oncology teams better visualize and interpret large volumes of MRI, CT, and PET CT images. Volume Viewing provides advanced 3D visualization tools and allows fusion of image sets for efficient comparison over time. Its integration with the hospital's IMPAX PACS allows seamless usage and improved workflow during daily tumor board meetings where radiologists demonstrate patient images and pathology to clinician groups. The hospital anticipates future technologies will further aid in managing and analyzing the large and growing volumes of complex patient image data.

Yanitza Figueroa created a PowerPoint presentation about her mother's collection of Native American artifacts, including various dreamcatchers. The presentation describes when and where each item was acquired, such as a dreamcatcher bought in Arizona in 2010 or gifts from her siblings. It shows her mother's collection has grown over the years through purchases at swap meets, yard sales, and gifts. The presentation expresses Yanitza's love and appreciation for her mother's collection.
The document discusses Robert Kiyosaki's Cash Flow Quadrant and the different ways people earn income. It notes that 95% of the population relies on trading time for dollars through jobs, limiting their potential income and wealth. In contrast, the right side of the quadrant involves business ownership and investing, where only 5% of the population sits but holds 95% of the wealth. It suggests associating with successful people and considering a company that can teach wealth accumulation through a proven system and mentors.
This document summarizes the career and experiences of a web developer who transitioned to management. It outlines the different areas they learned in taking the management leap, including people skills like 1:1 meetings and performance reviews, financial skills like budgets and forecasting, and manager skills like communication and emotional intelligence. Advice is given to skill up before making the jump and to have support, and the document closes noting where the author ultimately landed in their career.
My Website Can Vote - The Challenges of Maintaining a 20-year-old WebsiteKristine Howard
Talk given at WordCamp Sydney on September 24, 2016.
The Web is an industry that thrives on the new… but what about building sites that last?
In 1996, I used my newly acquired HTML skills to build a fan site for my favourite author.
Twenty years later, the site – roalddahlfans.com – is still alive and kicking.
I’ll trace the development of the site over the years, which mirrors both my own career journey as a developer and the trajectory of the web as a whole.
I’ll also talk about the challenges I faced during my recent 6-month project to convert the whole site – nearly 1500 pages – to WordPress, dragging it into the 21st century at last.
Individuals with disabilities have historically been treated as second class citizens in Canada. They were institutionalized and faced discrimination. Labels like "idiot" and "moron" were used to describe people with disabilities, influencing negative perceptions. While the Ontario Human Rights Code now prohibits disability discrimination, individuals with disabilities still face barriers to full inclusion and equality including higher rates of poverty, lack of support programs, and social stigma. Solutions include changing perceptions of disability, improving support systems, and promoting greater awareness and acceptance of individuals with disabilities.
The document discusses how knitting and coding/technology have overlapped in various projects. Some examples mentioned include knitting that encodes actual code or computer viruses, knits that display patterns or messages through LED lights, and knits made with conductive thread to interact with touch screens. The document promotes the idea that knitting can be high-tech and incorporate various technologies.
