Cannes Lions Grand Prix winners’ creative genius is undisputed but what human truths underpin 2014’s Lions?
Post-recession blow-outs, an appetite for risk and a desire to make a difference are major themes shaping this year's winners.
Trendbüro constantly monitors changes in culture, technology and economy that drive consumer expectations and choices. This is its annual „Trends to Watch“ report that helps to better understand changes in consumer expectations and behavior. The selection of ten trends is described in a from-to perspective that pairs a trend with its counter-trend or the further evolution of a hyper-relevant phenomena. As such it reflects Trendbüro's belief that consumer trends are an evolving system of those mindsets that drive expectations and choices, and should play a key role in creating brand experiences.
There was a time when SXSW set the agenda, but now it seems to reflect it.
Once a focal point of the digital design industry, the event has grown in size and ambition to become a forum for a wide variety of contemporary issues, seemingly random in nature and curated around no clear principles.
Havas has summarized some of the common key themes on display at SXSW, which were reflected more generally as societal trends.

rising rates of traffic congestion mean that
they’re not very efficient at remaining on
the move if the market demands it. In the
past we’ve seen Velopresso deliver eco,

Briggo aim to deliver barista-quality
coffee from nothing but a robotic kiosk,

same for salads — creating healthy,
gourmet meals from fresh, high quality
ingredients each morning, delivered

coastal cities turn their seafronts into local

for enabling women to get men to fund
their globetrotting plans in exchange for
letting them accompany them. Just in

potential partners who don’t necessarily
have the time to commit to an everyday
relationship.!
