Many athletes are superstitious and follow certain routines before games which they believe brings them luck or helps them relax. Some examples given include tennis player Rafa Nadal always taking two identical water bottles to matches, golfer Tiger Woods always wearing red on the last day of tournaments, and basketball player Michael Jordan wearing his old college shorts under his team uniforms. While superstitions don't make logical sense, athletes feel that following the same rituals before competitions will help them perform better.
