How did we come up with this figure ?
•Marketing budget : $300,000 (paid adds, PR releases, Tradeshows,
sponsored blog posts)
Based on average CPC for key phrases of $1.2 as well as average
CPM of $2.5 with heavy advertising volumes on the first 7 months on
the display exchanges, Adwords, Linkedin and Facebook.
•Salaries for a team of 5 : $250,000 the 2 founders, 1 developer , a
part time designer and a PR person)
•Overhead expenses – $50,000 office rent, internet, computers,
accounting.

•Pro version :
$50,000 in income for the first year from launch of the Pro version (paid)
$100,000 in incme frm the paid version for the second year.
•Paid Ads On Site – $4,000/ year from banner ads on the site.

Number of Users - In order to hit the target of $50,000 for the first year
we will need to have roughly 55 users taking an assumption that close
to 30% of those users will churn after 3 months or less and 70% will
continue for the full 12 months.
Prospects for the paid version – for the paid version the prospects are
recuiters or MD’s at SMB’s. We will need close to 500 prospects to
convert at 10% rate.
Retention rate : We expect to retain 70% of all converted users on the
paid version.
