A summary of some of our work with the Penticton Indian Band from 2006 - 2010, serving Aboriginals and other community members with disabilities. Doesn't include our more recent online computer tutoring, wage subsidy, and other labour market programming.
Around 1 billion people, or 15% of the world's population, live with disabilities. Disability rates are significantly higher among groups with lower education levels and in developing countries. Persons with disabilities often face barriers to education, employment, and full inclusion in society. Project Enable, a youth fellowship program, aimed to promote the rights and social inclusion of persons with disabilities in Lagos through community sensitization, empowering persons with disabilities with life and vocational skills, and advocating for their rights.
Vinod Nambiar is a software engineer with a passion for Kerala's cultural heritage. He has 15 years of experience in the software industry and holds a master's degree in computer application. He was born in Valluvanad, Kerala and had a keen interest in local traditions from a young age. He co-founded Vayali, a nonprofit focused on preserving folklore, folk art, folk music and dance. Vayali faced early challenges but is now self-sustaining and spreading awareness of Kerala's ethnic culture. The division provides programs and services to registered PWDs such as data banking and issuance of IDs, ensuring accessibility, inclusive education assistance, employment and livelihood support, and participation in advocacy events. The Albinism Society of Kenya (ASK) was formed in 2006 to promote social inclusion and protect the human rights of persons with albinism in Kenya. ASK's vision is a society free from prejudice against persons with albinism, while its mission is empowering persons with albinism to reach their full potential. ASK runs various programs to help persons with albinism, such as education support, providing sunscreen and glasses, job placement assistance, cancer treatment, and advocating for new policies and laws to help protect persons with albinism. ASK has over 10,000 members across multiple branches in Kenya.

Izaak’s blindness was caused by robbery with violence.

• Tried committing suicide 3 times.
• SNEP found him with his sister who had to
discontinue school to watch over him.
• We counseled him and gave him hope to live.
• Later we searched for placement and admission at Machakos Technical for
the blind.
• Now specializing in Leather Tanning and SNEP is paying his school fees.
• He does not use a guide to and from Machakos.
• His Vision is to have an Industry and employ other youth to help him.
