This document discusses the concept of spatial citizenship and its relationship to geography education. It addresses three main questions: 1) What is citizenship about and how do we become citizens? 2) How is spatial citizenship related to being responsible citizens and citizenship learning? 3) What does it mean for citizenship to be "spatial" and where does geography fit within this? 1. “Until recently, the concept of citizenship has been
more commonly understood in rather static and
institutionally dominated terms:
being a citizen was primarily a question of the

• SC is an approach that emphasises the
