Problems Involving Addition
and Subtraction of Decimal
Numbers Including Money Using
Appropriate Problem-Solving
Strategies and Tools.
There are two types of word problems
you may encounter, it could be:
1. Routine problem- solving which is concerned with
problems that are useful for daily living. Solving a
routine problem requires you to use a clear procedure.
2. Non-routine problem- solving which is mostly concerned
with developing the learner’s mathematical reasoning
power and fostering an understanding that mathematics is
a creative endeavor. Solving a non-routine problem requires
you to use high order thinking skills or HOTS.
