The scope of the project was to design a mobile application about the solar system with information on each planet. Limited human resources of two people filling multiple roles of analyst, developer, tester, and deployment engineer, along with a short timeline, made it impossible to follow a normal project structure or parallelize phases. Key activities included determining scope, specifications, architecture, timeline, developing, testing, and deploying the application onto a mobile device with the help of two laptops and a smartphone.

Boundary objects are artifacts that facilitate
communication and interaction between people or groups
functioning in different domains. Software engineers, user
interface designers and usability specialists have different
domain knowledge, different terminologies, and shared
terms with different, distinct meanings. Boundary objects
can help assist the process of designing software by
providing a common interface for communication between
professionals in different domains. The Software
Engineering department and User Interface Design Center
at Siemens Corporate Research used an evolutionary
prototype as a boundary object to help elicit product
requirements from their client, Siemens Medical Solutions.
This enhanced communication with the client and between
groups at SCR. This paper describes how the evolutionary
prototype functioned as a boundary object and how it
allowed software engineering processes and humancomputer
interaction methods to proceed concurrently
without the need for well-defined interaction points.

the issues faced by the project. The case study attendees are asked to analyze the project
information provided and to recommend courses of action to bring the project back on track.
Attendees are also asked to suggest actions that could be taken on future similar projects to
mitigate encountering similar problems. The key lessons learnt could be applied by other
organizations to avoid common pitfalls which result in projects going off track, as well as
knowing the telltale signs of troubled projects and actions to take to bring them back on track.
This is an interactive session, which utilizes group discussion to facilitate the adult learning
experience. Background A leading financial services company embarked on a new product
development project. The nature of the company's business is that it operates in an extremely
competitive environment that necessitates fast delivery to market so as to prevent competitor
companies from gaining dominant market share with similar competitive products. The key
success factors of the project were, therefore, time to market and quality. Cost of delivery was
not a major concern. Scope The scope of the project was to make a new investment product,
including the systems changes, the policy documents, marketing launch material, and the
administrative user training. The project was divided into sub-projects consisting of: Systems,
Marketing, Training, and Legal. A project manager was appointed, as well as sub-project co-
coordinators. Time Scales The launch date was set as 1 June 2002. The product had to be ready
for launch on this date, as all the marketing material would reflect this date and the launch had to
precede the launch of similar products from competitors. The project start date was 3 December
2001. The tasks that had been completed prior to 3 December were the Business Case
compilation and approval and the project team establishment. Technology The systems
development was to be done using the Java programming language and environment, which was
new to the development team. The developers were sent on Java programming training 2 weeks
prior to the project start. The developers were used to working in a COBOL programming
environment and had not worked with any object-oriented languages before. Case Study
Summary of Events Business Case Development The Product Development Department
developed the Business Case for the proposed new product, including projected cost/benefit
analysis based on previous similar products and current market share. The Business Case was
reviewed by Executive Management and approved. Requirements Definition The Product
Development Department developed the requirements specification for the new product. .
Programmer Productivity Enhancement Through Controlled Natural Language Input
We have created CABERNET, a Controlled Nature Language (CNL) based approach to program creation. CABERNET allows programmers to use a simple outline-based syntax. This allows increased programmer efficiency and syntax flexibility. CNLs have successfully been used for writing requirements documents. We propose taking this approach well beyond this to fully functional programs. Through the use of heuristics and inference to analyze and determine the programmer’s intent we are able to create fully functional mobile applications. The goal is for programs to be aligned with the way that the humans think rather than the way computers process information. Through the use of templates a CABERNET application can be processed to run on multiple run time environments. Because processing of a CABERNET program file results in native application program performance is maintained.

Mobile application uses and development is a rapidly growing sector. Nowadays mobile devices
are more powerful and portable with plenty of useful tools for assisting people handle daily life.
The main objective of this paper is to develop a mobile application that solves the problems
facing bus drivers and parents when parents do not show up, and when kids wait for a long
time. The application also produces the current drivers map to be used for bus fleet
management purposes. The application makes use of the location service on Android to specify
the current location of the driver, and the Google’s cloud to device messaging to push
approaching notifications to parents. The application is developed using an Extreme
Programming (XP) based methodology that performs the analysis, design, implementation, and
testing iteratively.

· Allow wireless real-time bidirectional data transfer and database queries with secure servers.
· Have a secure login and, after two minutes of non-use, have autolocking that reactivates a secure login.
· Allow for officers working on any day and at any time in offices, from vehicles, and on foot along the U.S. border and in cities across the country.
Overview
In Week 2, you defined how you will determine user applicability and needs. This week, you will map out a plan for your project.
Instructions:
Create a 2–3-page software development plan for the application you are developing. Include the following:
· List 8–10 steps the project will follow from proposal to post-implementation stages for proper design of the application. Be sure to account for all application constraints in the project planning steps.
· Explain the outcome, process, and resources involved in accomplishing each step. Incorporate at least 3 credible and relevant resources to support your statements.
· Create a Gantt chart that includes each step in the process, the resources involved, and the estimated duration of time it will take to complete each step. It is recommended that you use Microsoft Excel to create your chart. You may copy and paste it into your software development plan document or submit a separate file.
· Remember, your audience is your company’s IT executive. Your writing should be professional and free of grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

I n the beginning was the waterfall (Figure 1a). We would get the users to tell us once and for all exactly what they wanted. We would design the system that would deliver those features. We would code it. We would test to make sure the
features were delivered. All would be well. All was not well. The users didn’t tell us once and
for all exactly what they wanted. They didn’t know. They contradicted themselves. They changed their minds. And the users weren’t the only problem. We programmers could think we were making great progress only to discover three-fourths of the way through that we were one-third of the way through.
If long development cycles were bad because they couldn’t adapt to changes, perhaps what we needed was to make shorter.

Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. Solar system application
- 2. The scope of the project was to design a mobile application. The team chosen to develop an application that would illustrate the Solar System with all the planets and that would show information about each one of them.
- 3. The most important constraints were the human resources and the limited time . These two constraints made it impossible to parallelize the phases of the project and to follow the normal structure of a project.
- 4. Human resources : a team of two people that played multiple roles such as Analyst Developer Tester Deployment Engineer The hardware resources consisted of 2 Laptops 1 Smartphone
- 5. The most important Activities were: Determining the scope of the project Define the specifications Choose the proper architecture Setup the delivery timeline Develop the application Test the application Prepare documentation Deploy application onto the mobile and present it
