Sodium cyclamate and calcium cyclamate are artificial sweeteners. Sodium cyclamate is more commonly used, while calcium cyclamate can be used as a replacement in low-sodium products, though it causes issues in some applications. They are produced by reacting cyclohexylamine with chlorosulfonic acid or sulfamic acid. Sodium cyclamate is about 30 times sweeter than sugar but has no bitter aftertaste like sodium saccharin. It is often blended with sodium saccharin and other sweeteners.
