WELFARE TRUST
 The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT) was set up in
December 2008, in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks.
Inspired by the resilience of survivors and the courage of those
who came to their aid, our purpose is to reach out to people
affected by disasters, both man-made and natural, with support
to rebuild their lives.
 Their mandate is to extend relief, rehabilitation and other
assistance victims of terror, natural calamities and other tragic
events that inflict damage to life and property. In this endeavor,
they partner with NGOs, institutions, and other Tata Group
companies and Trusts

R E S P O N S I B I L I T Y
• IHCL has championed the cause of skilling less privileged youth
in the country since more than a decade; long before the
inception of the CSR mandatory spend under the Companies Act,
2013 in the country. It’s a known fact how badly Indian youth at
the bottom of the pyramid lack timely guidance & handholding
for what they can do post high school to become employable.
Their CSR & Affirmative Action effort has been focused on
addressing this gap. They build capacities of institutions that
serve the youth from poor socio-economic backgrounds &
remote hinterlands and run industry relevant vocational training
programmed that benefit such youth who drop out from the
traditional educational system.
S U S T A I N A B I L I T Y
• Sustainability is a prerequisite for their operations wherever they
do business. Taj hotels teams work behind the scenes to
maximize resource efficiency in each hotel, ensuring that water
and energy are used judiciously, and waste is reduced. To enable
guests to enjoy their stay while limiting their carbon footprint,
they maximize their use of renewable energy, invest in water
efficient infrastructure and constantly work towards ambitious
targets for emissions reduction. Taj hotels in environmentally-
sensitive areas near natural parks, forests and fragile coastlines
are constructed using local materials and eco-friendly design.
Through projects for turtle conservation and coral reef
restoration, They provide opportunity to guest to participate in
preserving the natural beauty of the locations they visit. In the
last year alone, all these efforts have resulted in more than
58,000 tons of CO2 emissions avoided and more than 3.2 million
kiloliters of water reused and recycled.

V O L U N T E E R I N G
• Volunteering is the primary channel through which CSR &
Inclusion initiatives are undertaken across the board. Year on
year, they encourage their associates to volunteer for
participating in community development initiatives, Tata
Volunteering Months, Tata disaster relief & rehabilitation
programmes and environmentally responsible endeavors. Year
on year, they have over 4000 volunteers contributing over
10,000 volunteering hours; actively undertaking training
sessions, student assessments, etc. at our CSR skill training
centers and various other community welfare & development
efforts.

To enable guests to enjoy their stay while limiting their carbon footprint, they maximize their use of renewable energy, invest in water efficient infrastructure and constantly work towards ambitious targets for emissions reduction. Taj hotels in environmentally- sensitive areas near natural parks, forests and fragile coastlines are constructed using local materials and eco-friendly design. Through projects for turtle conservation and coral reef restoration, They provide opportunity to guest to participate in preserving the natural beauty of the locations they visit. In the last year alone, all these efforts have resulted in more than 58,000 tons of CO2 emissions avoided and more than 3.2 million kiloliters of water reused and recycled.
  • 7. E M P L O Y E E V O L U N T E E R I N G • Volunteering is the primary channel through which CSR & Inclusion initiatives are undertaken across the board. Year on year, they encourage their associates to volunteer for participating in community development initiatives, Tata Volunteering Months, Tata disaster relief & rehabilitation programmes and environmentally responsible endeavors. Year on year, they have over 4000 volunteers contributing over 10,000 volunteering hours; actively undertaking training sessions, student assessments, etc. at our CSR skill training centers and various other community welfare & development efforts.
