Leader’s Prayer
† Lord grant that we may understand the necessity for depth in our
Movement, rather than surface glory. Convince us of the truth
that colorful programs do not constitute success.
† My God, give us a spirit of self sacrifice so that we may offer
everything for Your cause: our time, our abilities, our health and
even our lives if necessary. Instill in us courage in our initiatives,
good judgment in our choice of the right means, and that
determination, which in spit of failures, assures victory.
† Move away from us the tiny rivalries, sensitivities, discourtesies,
pride, everything which distracts from You, everything which
divides or discourages.

3
Leader’s Prayer con’t
† Help us to maintain at a high level, a meaningful supernatural and
mutual charity among ourselves, so that each one will seek by
preference, the most humble task and will rejoice at the good
performed by others, so that all our spirits, united in a common
purpose, will have one single spirit, Yours Jesus, and that this
spirit may let us see Your attractive goodness marked in all our
faces, Your warm accents in all our words, and in our lives
something superior to the world, something that proclaims Your
Living Presence among us. Amen
† Our Lady of Guadelupe, Patron of the Americas, Pray for US.
† St Paul, Patron of the Cursillo, Pray for US.

New Team Members
† Generally feel honored to be asked to be on a team
†
†
†
†

Anxious to contribute
They do not understand team operations and schedule
They have a general recollection of the weekend schedule
The challenge is to make them as comfortable with their environment
and responsibilities as possible
† End product is a checklist for a veteran team member to discuss with a
new team member at the first team meeting
† We will now brainstorm what topics ught to be on the checklist

Chapel setup, distribution of Palanca in bags, Palanca Chief's prayer goals for weekend,
how the Palanca team handles prayer requests, how the Palanca team operates and
identification of the constant issue of not forgetting the Palanca team for meals and
chapel.
More than any other area, the new team members understand the role of the table leader.
They need to understand the table leader schedule when he gives a Rollo.
His role in coordinating with Deacons and Spiritual Advisor on the conduct of masses,
prayers etc. ;what the liturgist does on the weekend when not in the chapel.
Guide the weekend. The Rector is the facilitator of the weekend and the Angel keeps us
on time. Angel coordinates Table Leader Preparation during team session prior to the

Team Meetings Prior to Weekend
Purpose of Team Meetings

Pre-weekend meeting sequence

Rollo Reviews

Essential Team Member Supplies for
weekend

Why we have 4-5 meetings in advance of the weekend: they build cohesion in the team,
review Rollos, conduct set-up, Palanca and litergy planning. Emphasize the necessity for
the new team member to try to attend all the meetings. Being on a team is a commitment.
First meeting is an organizational meeting; next three continue planning and get all the
Rollos reviewed; final meeting is team all day intended to get the team in the right
spiritual frame of mind for the weekend.
Rollo reviews are based on outlines in 3 day manual. Reviews are intended to help the
Rolloista to insure he is presenting the material in sequence, is on time, shares personal
experiences where appropriate. New team members are there to provide insight to the
flow of the talk, its understandability, content. At the reviews, the Rollista gives the talk,
leaves the room and the comments are provided primarily by the team member assigned
to review the Rollo and then the other reviewers say what they think is appropriate. When
giving comments, insure your facts are right and what you are saying contributes. The
Rollista is in an information gathering mode at this time.
Rosary, Commitment Cross, Pilgrim's guide, pen and any desired prayer materials.

Weekend
First Day

Friday, Saturday
Sunday

Follow Rector instructions. Team members arrive at site by mid afternoon. Unpack and
prepare their rooms then immediately check with set-up and/or Palanca chiefs to help
with set-up and/or setting up the Palanca chapel and distributing Palanca in the bags.
Team meal and mass are around 5PM.
Team Members responsibilities upon the arrival of candidates: be by the checkin table,
escort candidates to their rooms, make their beds and direct them back to Rollo room once
they are unpacked. Socialize with candidates prior to start.
Be prepared to introduce yourself, Cursillo #, parish, family, interests
Team has meeting in Bennet Hall after candidates are sent to bed.
Team maintaining silence during retreat period is important. Sounds travel and we do not
want to interrupt the candidate quiet time. Do necessary business in a whisper.
Execute responsibilities.
Team Meeting after Candidates sent to bed.
Execute responsibilities; Commitment crosses are worn.
Strip your bed when you wake up and do as much packing of personal belongings as
possible.
Do what you can do throughout the day to help with cleanup
Team is released after Clausura. Make sure your room is squared away before you leave
(linens deposited in bins)

Closing Prayer
† Dear Lord, we must have fraternal charity, or we can accomplish
nothing for you.
† In loving you, help us to have a genuine concern for one another, a
generosity in sharing one another’s burdens, a gallantry in

defending the reputation of our group, a sincere sympathy in
sharing one another’s suffering and sorrows, and a joy in sharing
their spiritual growth.

† By this shall all men know that we are your Apostles. Amen.

  • 3. Leader’s Prayer † Lord grant that we may understand the necessity for depth in our Movement, rather than surface glory. Convince us of the truth that colorful programs do not constitute success. † My God, give us a spirit of self sacrifice so that we may offer everything for Your cause: our time, our abilities, our health and even our lives if necessary. Instill in us courage in our initiatives, good judgment in our choice of the right means, and that determination, which in spit of failures, assures victory. † Move away from us the tiny rivalries, sensitivities, discourtesies, pride, everything which distracts from You, everything which divides or discourages. 3
  • 4. Leader’s Prayer con’t † Help us to maintain at a high level, a meaningful supernatural and mutual charity among ourselves, so that each one will seek by preference, the most humble task and will rejoice at the good performed by others, so that all our spirits, united in a common purpose, will have one single spirit, Yours Jesus, and that this spirit may let us see Your attractive goodness marked in all our faces, Your warm accents in all our words, and in our lives something superior to the world, something that proclaims Your Living Presence among us. Amen † Our Lady of Guadelupe, Patron of the Americas, Pray for US. † St Paul, Patron of the Cursillo, Pray for US. 4

  • 9. Checklist Items Team Meetings Prior to Weekend Purpose of Team Meetings Pre-weekend meeting sequence Rollo Reviews Essential Team Member Supplies for weekend Why we have 4-5 meetings in advance of the weekend: they build cohesion in the team, review Rollos, conduct set-up, Palanca and litergy planning. Emphasize the necessity for the new team member to try to attend all the meetings. Being on a team is a commitment. First meeting is an organizational meeting; next three continue planning and get all the Rollos reviewed; final meeting is team all day intended to get the team in the right spiritual frame of mind for the weekend. Rollo reviews are based on outlines in 3 day manual. Reviews are intended to help the Rolloista to insure he is presenting the material in sequence, is on time, shares personal experiences where appropriate. New team members are there to provide insight to the flow of the talk, its understandability, content. At the reviews, the Rollista gives the talk, leaves the room and the comments are provided primarily by the team member assigned to review the Rollo and then the other reviewers say what they think is appropriate. When giving comments, insure your facts are right and what you are saying contributes. The Rollista is in an information gathering mode at this time. Rosary, Commitment Cross, Pilgrim's guide, pen and any desired prayer materials. Medicines 9
