The program consists of an initial educational session and a celebratory walk where students submit any funds they have raised. Save a girl_child
The students created newspaper bags with the message "Save a Girl Child" and sold them during recess to raise money for an organization called Shiksha Kendra. They were able to raise Rs. 170 which they donated. Their goal was to raise awareness among other students about the importance of educating and treating girls properly in rural areas, where girls often do not go to school and have limited rights.

The students at Holy Cross School in Bangalore participated in a school contest called "Design for Change". They came up with an idea to help poor children at their school by visiting their homes, understanding their struggles, and fundraising to pay school fees and buy supplies. They were able to collect Rs. 3500 in donations within three days. With the money, they paid two months of school fees and gave a family ration supplies and a new dress for the children. They shared their success with other students, who decided to also help poor children each year. The students thanked God, their school, and all who supported their project.

- 1. Snapshot India Dina Torrans, a friend of Plan, just returned from an incredible month-long trip to India. Check out Dina’s photo journal documenting her visit to a Plan community where she visited schools, a daycare and met women who have benefited from microfinance projects. Boy at a Plan-funded school for children who have left formal education. Classes aim to bring kids up to the education level for their age.
- 2. This pre-school and day-care centre provides toys, storytelling, and education in basic math and literacy.
- 3. Children at this Plan-funded pre-school and day-care receive meals and an education while their parents can earn an income during the day.
- 4. These children attend school because their mother received a loan to buy a buffalo. They have milk to drink and enough left to sell.
- 5. Samnibai used her loan for a water buffalo. Now she’s the treasurer of the women’s co-op.
- 6. Students at this Plan-funded primary school strive to achieve “A level,” making them eligible to enroll in the government school.
- 7. Children enjoy some free time at this Plan-funded school.
- 8. Youth ages 14-25 attend a youth centre to participate in discussions on gender, reproductive health, climate change and peace building.
- 9. The youth centre also offers workshops on animation, theatre, writing and crucial life skills.
