ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT The implementation of electronic government started with the initiation of Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) by the Malaysian government. Malaysian government launched the e-Government to reinvent itself to lead the country into the Information Age. Providing better services to the public and enable the government to be more responsive to the needs of its citizens.
Objectives to accelerate the growth of MSC to enhance national competitiveness to create high value jobs and export growth to help reduce digital divide  to make MSC a regional hub and test bed.
Main projects Electronic Services Directory (eServices)  Electronic Procurement (e-perolehan) Generic Office Environment (GOE) Human Resource Management Information System Project Monitoring System (PMS) -  E-Syariah -  Electronic Labour Exchange (ELX)
Additional projects by several government agencies Public Services Portal (myGovernment) e-Tanah e-Consent e-Filing e-Local Government (e-PBT) e-Kehakiman Custom Information System (SMK) Pensions Online Workflow Environment (POWER) Training Information System (e-SILA)
e-Perolehan converts traditional procurement processes in the Government machinery to electronic procurement on the Internet and can be accessed at  www.eperolehan.com.my . allows suppliers to present their products on the internet, receive, manage and process purchase orders and receive payment from government agencies via the Internet.
Project Monitoring System (PMS II) create a mechanism to monitor project implementation throughout various government agencies and statutory bodies. provide a platform for exchanging ideas and demonstrating best practices in project implementation. Project Implementation has been completed at all 28 ministries and federal agencies throughout the country.  Example: Elektronik   Sistem Perancangan dan Kawalan Belanjawan  (eSPKB) &  Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor  (PKK) Interface
Electronic Services Directory (eServices) a pilot project that allows citizens of Malaysia to engage in transactions with government and utilities payments Example : telephone and electricity bill, police summons, Road and Transport Department (RTD) services, etc. The eServices can be accessed through three websites, namely www.eservices.com.my; www.rilek.com.my; and www.myeg.com.my.
e-Syariah to improve the quality of service in Syariah courts. This will eventually enhance the Islamic Affairs Department's effectiveness through better monitoring and co-ordination of its agencies and thus improve the management of its 102 Syariah courts. E-Syariah application consists of Syariah Court Case Management System, Office Automation System, Esyariah Portal, Syaree Lawyers Registration System and Library Management System.
TELEHEALTH Aimed to maintain people in the wellness paradigm. The focus and greater importance is now more on the individuals (not the providers) in order for them to achieve greater access to health information, education and advice. It empowers individuals, families, and communities to manage their health in smart partnership with healthcare providers.
 
Teleconsultation (TC) The Teleconsultation application's primary objective is to extend specialist care to health clinics and health centres where there are lacks of specialists.  This is done by providing Teleconsultation links between healthcare facilities which improve equity of access to quality care especially to under-served areas and realize the goal of care closer to the home.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) CPD is a process of lifelong learning for all healthcare providers aimed at meeting the needs of patients through best outcome while enabling the healthcare professionals to expand and fulfill their potential
Health Online Health Online Projects entails creating and delivering high quality health content using the internet, multimedia technologies and mass communications.  Empowering individuals with medical knowledge will allow them to make informed decisions and take care of their own health. Lifetime Health Plan (LHP) LHP refers to structured care activities to be undertaken in relation to various anticipated events in a person's life.  This will include activities related to health promotion, health assessment, disease prevention & illness modulation.  LHP also provide services to facilitate the implementation of structured care activities.
BORDERLESS MARKETING CENTRES   is developed on the premise that multimedia technology can be used by businesses to more efficiently and better serve their customers across different time zones, and effectively reach out to new customers. The traditional barriers of time, space and form will be eliminated in the process by the use of technology.
to create an environment in the MSC for companies to use multimedia technology to create and deliver marketing messages, customer services, and information products to their multicultural and multinational customers. It will also create value for local and foreign companies by providing a platform for them to interact with their customers, thus facilitating their existing businesses, and generating new business opportunities.

Telemarketing Telemarketing companies will find within the MSC an opportunity to centralise their call centre operations. Help catalogue retailers to sell their products to a large and growing customer base in the Asia-Pacific. Other companies can provide customer or technical services to their customers. Third-party telemarketing bureaux can offer their services.
Online Information Services Contain the  the latest information regarding to bussiness. Online information and news providers can set up their information hub in the MSC to collect, store, process, and distribute their information to a world market.
Electronic commerce still in its early stages technology developers can develop various EC-enabling tools and applications such as security software, payment systems, and other tools. The Smart School Application will also play its part in encouraging electronic commerce through the promotion of computer and IT literacy.
Digital broadcasting The region promises to be an exciting market for broadcasting and entertainment, given its large population and high penetration of television sets. Entertainment companies have the option of using the MSC as their regional hub for production and broadcasting. facilities in the MSC provide access to the Malaysian East Asia Satellites (MEASAT1 and 2).
WORLD WIDE MANUFACTURING WEB is a government initiative to provide the optimal environment for manufacturing and manufacturing-service companies utilising multimedia technology to create and deliver value-added services and products to their customers around the globe. The ultimate goal is to position Malaysia as a prime choice for manufacturing companies to locate hubs for supporting and controlling their expanding manufacturing operations in the region more efficiently and cost-effectively. 
To foster the development of the WMW, this Flagship Application encourages companies to build links between operation centres around a wide range of support services, including: Research and Development, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing Control, Procurement, and Logistics and Distribution Support.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRES according to the  Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development , R&D refers to "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications".
The R&D Cluster Flagship Application will help to ensure that the MSC is an attractive location for companies to develop next-generation multimedia technologies and innovations. Three core elements of the R&D Cluster Flagship will help to achieve this:  the encouragement of corporate R&D; the creation of a new Multimedia University; the development of large-scale R&D pilot projects.
Companies locating in the R&D Cluster within the MSC will operate in an environment that by the year 2000 will have core clusters of : At least 15 corporate R&D centres of leading-edge multimedia companies and universities At least 10 R&D collaborative centres between foreign companies and universities and local firms/institutions At least 10 local R&D centres A Multimedia University operating at Cyberjaya to support the R&D Cluster 8-10 large-scale pilot projects for emerging multimedia technologies

MYKAD seeks to develop a single and common platform for a Multi-Purpose Card (MPC).   the MPC will be a plastic card embedded with a chip or microprocessor that has the capability to perform a wide range of functions, including data processing, storage, and file management
Applications in Mykad On card application - Example:  i. National ID It will have improved security features and  may be used as an "access key" for other  government or private applications. ii. Driving licences
Off card applications . Example : my health    Basic and critical medical information will be stored on the card ( blood type, basic information etc) to improve diagnosis and care in emergency and general care situations Format at the government hospital.
ATM applications  In selected bank ( for eg: Bank Islam, Maybank) Also have to access this  application at the bank. But not all bank upgrade  the use of MEPS cash.
E-cash Example :  touch n go that used in highway or expressway. Also used in purchases at selected placed which is starbuck, Burger King, A & W.
My kasih - Launched by CEO of multimedia Development Corporation - MyKasih is a food aid and education scheme for those in the lower-income group.  - With the funds, the families can purchase essential food items such as rice, sugar, flour, milk and cooking oil - At selected hypermarket ( Giant)
