The document also covers some examples of smart hospitals in the UAE and discusses challenges related to data privacy, accuracy, and infrastructure requirements.
Critical care involves highly complex decision making. It is by nature data-intense. Despite the growth of critical care, however, the basic approach of data collection and management has remained largely unchanged over the past 40 years. Large volumes of data are collected from disparate sources and reviewed usually retrospectively; and even that is difficult.
Understanding the dynamics of critical illness requires precisely time-stamped physiologic data (sampled frequently enough to accurately recreate the detail of physiologic waveforms) integrated with clinical context and processed with a wide array of linear and nonlinear analytical tools.

BIG DATA AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ARE BUILDING A NEW HEALTHCARE LANDSCAPE
Digital Hospitals: The Future of Acute Care - Advances in digital health are changing the medical landscape. By embracing digital transformations, hospitals are able to grant providers access to real-time patient records coupled population health data enhanced by artificial intelligence offering greater insights for improved patient outcomes. With the advancement of wearables and other remote diagnostic and monitoring devices, patients can receive quality care anywhere a connection to the cloud exists.
Healthcare providers now have a whole host of tools and resources at their fingertips to access real-time data, monitor patients remotely and make better care decisions. This access to better data frees the patient from the physical restraints of the hospital environment. This lessens the dependence on admitting patients into large hospitals for extended stays at exorbitant costs to both payers and patients.
A smart hospital is a hospital that relies on optimized and automated processes built on an Information and communication technologies environment (ICT) of interconnected assets, particularly based on Internet of things (IoT), to improve existing patient care procedures and introduce new capabilities.

Hospital Management Software with Arthritis Prediction in Ayurvedaijtsrd
The application of data mining is visible in fields like commerce, e business, and trade. The medical fields are rich in information but the knowledge is still weak. Data wealth is high in the medical field. But there is a lack of analytic tools to analyze trends in data. Here we implement a hospital management software in order to computerize the front office workflow and it implements Predictive models for the diseases using machine learning algorithms. The front office management deals with the collection of patient information and diagnosis details etc. Traditionally all these works were done manually and using this software we can digitalize the entire operations. We are implementing this hospital management software and predictive models in Ayurveda. As the initial step, we are implementing a predictive model for Arthritis, by analyzing Rheumatoid Factor RF , age and symptoms of the patient. There are five types of arthritis Gout, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, and Juvenile arthritis. The age, RF value, and age determine the type of arthritis the person possesses. Rheumatoid factor is an antibody that can be detected in the blood of a person who has arthritis. We use six machine learning algorithms here. They are SVM, CART, Linear Regression, KNN, Naïve Bayes, Linear Discriminant analysis. Medical Technology Tackles New Health Care Demand - Research Report - March 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) predicts that with, against, despite, and even without the global pandemic, the medical technology (MedTech) industry shows signs of continuous healthy growth, driven by smaller, faster, and cheaper devices, growing demand for home-based applications, technological innovation, strategic acquisitions, investments, and SPAC listings. MCG predicts that this should reflects itself in annual growth of over 6%, well beyond 2028.
According to Chris Mouchabhani, Managing Partner at M Capital Group, “Despite all economic scenarios that one may consider, beyond overall economic shocks, medical technology should remain one of the most promising and robust sectors over the short to medium term and well beyond 2028.”
There is a movement towards home-based care for the elderly, next generation scanning and MRI devices, wearable technology, artificial intelligence incorporation, and online connectivity. Experts also see a focus on predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory, and precision medicine, with rising levels of integration of home care and technological innovation.
The average cost of treatment has been rising across the board, creating additional financial burdens to governments, healthcare providers and insurance companies. According to MCG, cost-per-inpatient-stay in the United States alone rose on average annually by over 13% between 2014 to 2021, leading MedTech to focus research efforts on optimized medical equipment at lower price points, whilst emphasizing portability and ease of use. Namely, 46% of the 1,008 medical technology companies in the 2021 MedTech Innovator (“MTI”) database are focusing on prevention, wellness, detection, or diagnosis, signaling a clear push for preventive care to also tackle costs.
In addition, there has also been a lasting impact on consumer and medical demand for home care, supported by the pandemic. Lockdowns, closure of care facilities, and healthcare systems subjected to capacity pressure, accelerated demand away from traditional inpatient care. Now, outpatient care solutions are driving industry production, with nearly 70% of recent diagnostics start-up companies producing products in areas such as ambulatory clinics, at-home care, and self-administered diagnostics.
3. Introduction
WHILE OUR LIFE IS NOW ALL GOING INTO SMART TECHNOLOGICAL
DEVICES EVERYWHERE, HOSPITALS ALSO DO. OUR DISCUSSION
focuses on smart devices in hospitals. SMART HOSPITALS ARE
HEALTHCARE FACILITIES THAT USE THE MOST CURRENT
TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE PATIENT OUTCOMES AND THE OVERALL
HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE. TO PROVIDE PERSONALIZED CARE AND
STREAMLINE PROCESSES, THESE HOSPITALS USE A RANGE OF
CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE,
THE INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT), BIG DATA ANALYTICS, AND MOBILE
DEVICES.
THE GOAL OF SMART HOSPITALS IS TO CREATE AN INTERCONNECTED
ECOSYSTEM OF DEVICES AND SYSTEMS THAT WORK SEAMLESSLY
TOGETHER TO PROVIDE BETTER CARE AND HEALTH OUTCOMES TO
PATIENTS.
THIS INVOLVES INTEGRATING MEDICAL DEVICES, ELECTRONIC
HEALTH RECORDS, AND PATIENT PORTALS INTO A SINGLE NETWORK,
ENABLING REAL-TIME MONITORING OF PATIENTS' HEALTH AND
PROVIDING DOCTORS AND NURSES WITH INSTANT ACCESS TO
CRITICAL PATIENT INFORMATION.ADDITIONALLY, SMART HOSPITALS
ALSO FOCUS ON IMPROVING OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY, REDUCING
COSTS, AND OPTIMIZING RESOURCE UTILIZATION. THIS IS ACHIEVED
THROUGH THE USE OF ADVANCED ANALYTICS TOOLS THAT
HELPHOSPITALS IDENTIFY AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT, SUCH AS
REDUCING WAIT TIMES, OPTIMIZING STAFFING LEVELS, AND
IMPROVING INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.
SMART HOSPITALS, IN THE END, ARE CREATED TO IMPROVE THE
QUALITY OF CARE PROVIDED TO PATIENTS WHILE ALSO INCREASING
OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND REDUCING COSTS. THESE HOSPITALS
ARE TRANSFORMING THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY AND PROVIDING
PATIENTS WITH A BETTER HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE BY LEVERAGING
THE LATEST TECHNOLOGIES.
4. IMPORTANCE OF SMART
HOSPITALS
SMART HOSPITALS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS, INCLUDING:

TO DELIVE
PRBETTER PATIENT CARE, SMART HOSPITALS INTEGRATE CUTTIeNG-
EDGE TECHNOLOGIES LIKE ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS, REMOTE PATIENT
MONITORING, AND PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS. THIS ENHANCES THE PRECISION
OF DIAGNOSES AND TREATMENT REGIMENS WHILE REDUCING ERRORS.
EFFICIENCY GAIN:
DIGITALIZATION AND AUTOMATION ARE USED BY SMART HOSPITALS TO
STREAMLINE NUMEROUS ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS LIKE BILLING, SCHEDULING
PATIENTS, AND INVENTORY CONTROL. AS A RESULT, HOSPITAL STAFF
MEMBERS HAVE LESS WORK TO DO AND CAN DEVOTE MORE TIME TO
CARING FOR PATIENTS.
C OST SAVINGS:
BY ELIMINATING WASTE AND ENHANCING OPERATIONALEFFECTIVENESS,
SMART HOSPITALS CAN LOWER THE PRICE OF PROVIDING HEALTHCARE.
PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS, FOR INSTANCE, CAN HELP TO IDENTIFY PATIENTS
WHO ARE AT RISK OF DEVELOPING DIFFICULTIES BEFORE THEY NEED TO BE
HOSPITALIZED, REDUCING THE NEED FOR HOME HEALTHCARE VISITS AND
HOSPITAL READMISSIONS.
PERSONALIZED CARE:
SHORTER WAIT TIMES AND REAL-TIME COMMUNICATION WITH MEDICAL
PROFESSIONALS ARE ALL WAYS THAT SMART HOSPITALS EMPLOY
TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE.
IMPROVED HEALTHCARE OUTCOMES:
TO ENHANCE TREATMENT PLANS AND SPOT POTENTIAL HEALTH RISKS BEFORE
THEY BECOME SERIOUS, SMART HOSPITALS CAN USES DATA ANALYTICS TO
FIND PATTERNS AND TRENDS IN PATIENT DATA.
Finally, SMART HOSPITALS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CHANGE HEALTHCARE
BY IMPROVING PATIENT EXPERIENCE, LOWERING COSTS, AND

6. 1.Automatic Machine Treatment:
There is a kind of machine that is fixed in the patient’s body. It
analyzes the patient’s body and inserts the medicines into
patients’ bodies according to their body conditions.
These machines are made by programming in their
programming if there come some errors and bugs.
Then it is very harmful to the patients because it can insert the
wrong di agnosis into the patient’s body.
which causes the critical condition and death of the patient.
2.Show the Wrong Result of the Patients Condition:
One of the cons of medical technology is sometimes the
machinery ortechnological devices show the wrong result.
Sometimes it didn’t show the accurate result of the patients to
the doctor.
The technological machines are made by engineers and
programmers.Sometimes errors and bugs come into it. Then it
didn’t work properly.
If it shows the wrong result and the doctor gives the wrong
diagnosis to the patient then it takes the patient’s life in danger.
This is one of the most dangerous cons of medical technology
for the patients
3. Increased Cost of the Treatment for the Patients:
The increased cost of treatment is also one of the
disadvantages of medical technology.
Mostly all the treatments and surgeries through technology are
very costly, like robotic surgery, and other kinds of technological
machinery surgeries are very costly.
And most of the patients belong to rural areas and they are
poor. For poor patients, it’s impossible to pay for costly surgeries.
Technology increased health care but also increased the cost of
that.Which is impossible for the patients to pay.

9. CHALLENGES OF SMART HOSPITALS
INTELLIGENT HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGIES ARE WIDELY USED FOR THE
PREVENTIONAND EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF DISEASE AND ARE INSTRUMENTAL
IN TRANSFORMINGTRADITIONAL MEDICAL CARE INTO PATIENT-CENTERED
CARE. HOWEVER, IT CANNOTBE COMPLETELY REPLACED DUE TO THE
CHALLENGES IT FACES.
THE MAIN CHALLENGES FOR SMART HOSPITALS ARE:
SECURITY AND PRIVACY:
MAINTAINING CONFIDENTIALITY, INTEGRITY, ANDAVAILABILITY OF
HEALTHCARE DATA IS A CHALLENGE. STORING HEALTH DATA INUNTRUSTED
SERVERS IN HOSPITALS IS A CONCERN FOR PATIENTS AS THERE
ARECHANCES FOR ABUSE AND TAMPERING OF THE DATA.
DATA ACCURACY:
IF A MACHINE LEARNING PROGRAM IS FED WITH WRONGINFORMATION, IT
LEARNS WRONG PATTERNS AND IS LIKELY TO GIVE WRONGINSIGHTS,
LEADING TO ERRONEOUS TREATMENT FOR PATIENTS.THUS,THERE ISA
NEED TO ENSURE THAT ONLY ACCURATE DATA IS FED TO THE EHR
SYSTEM.DATA FED FROM IOT SENSORS MIGHT NOT CAUSE PROBLEMS AS
LONG AS THESENSORS ARE WORKING PROPERLY.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
SMART HOSPITALS NEED TO HAVE ADEQUATEINFRASTRUCTURE
TO SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
ADVANCEDTECHNOLOGIES, SUCH AS HIGH-SPEED INTERNET
CONNECTIVITY, DATACENTERS, AND OTHER SUPPORTING
INFRASTRUCTURE.
TO ADDRESS THESE CHALLENGES, COLLABORATION BETWEEN HEALTHCARE
PROVIDERS, TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES, POLICYMAKERS, AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS
IS REQUIRED. WE CAN BUILD A MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE HEALTHCARE
SYSTEM THAT BENEFITS BOTH PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS BY WORKING TOGETHER.

ARESOMESTEPS TO CONSIDER:
HOSPITALS CAN BECOME "SMART," IMPROVING PATIENT CARE AND OUTCOMES
WHILE INCREASING EFFICIENCY AND REDUCING COSTS, BY IMPLEMENTING THESE
TECHNOLOGIES AND PRACTICES.
11. C ONC LUSION
IN CONCLUSION, SMART HOSPITALS HAVE EMERGED AS AN
INNOVATIVE
SOLUTION TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY OF
HEALTHCARE
DELIVERY. BY LEVERAGING ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES
SUCH AS IOT, AI, AND
BIG DATA, SMART HOSPITALS ARE ABLE TO OPTIMIZE
THEIR PROCESSES,
REDUCE ERRORS, AND ENHANCE PATIENT EXPERIENCES.
THEY OFFER A RANGE
OF BENEFITS INCLUDING PERSONALIZED PATIENT CARE,
REMOTE MONITORING,
REAL-TIME DATA ANALYSIS, AND PREDICTIVE
MAINTENANCE. HOWEVER, THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF SMART HOSPITALS REQUIRES
SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT IN
TECHNOLOGY, INFRASTRUCTURE, AND TRAINING, AND
MAY FACE CHALLENGES
RELATED TO DATA PRIVACY, SECURITY, AND ETHICAL
CONSIDERATIONS.
NEVERTHELESS, WITH THE GROWING DEMAND FOR HIGH-
QUALITY
HEALTHCARE, SMART HOSPITALS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO
TRANSFORM THE
HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY AND ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF
LIFE FOR PATIENTS
