2. BACK ON NARRAGANSETT…
• Police once came to the apartment I
was living at with my mom, my mom’s
friend, and her friend’s daughter
• They blamed us little toddlers for being
too loud and told us to be quiet
• This was around 1992
3. POLICE AT MY MAMA’S HOME
• Nowadays, my mom is living
in a much nicer place
• But police are still telling me to be quiet,
but in a much LESS nicer way
•“Y’all Polocks need to stop shouting
so gadamn loud! We can’t hear the
sounds of our guns over your
gadamn immigrant racket!!”
6. SOME PEOPLE HUSTLE JUST TO EAT
• I was walking down the
street and a dude
stopped to start telling
me that his son just
passed away…
• Before he had a
chance to finish his story,
I gave him a dollar and
he thanked me
• Whether or not
he was telling the
truth, one thing
for sure is that our
short exchange
vividly illustrates
the power
of the dollar
$1
